COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A creature of the swamp, Andygator is a unique high gravity brew made with 2-row pale malt, German lager yeast, and Liberty hops. Unlike other high gravity brews, Andygator is fermented to a dry finish.

22oz bottle thanks to KAggie97. Pours a clear pale golden with a mostly diminishing head and some lacing. Aromas of dough, light hops, light caramel and some earthy notes. Flavors of sweet malts, grass, and corn? Palate is medium bodied and fairly light on the carbonation. Thanks again Kevin

It poured a clear golden amber color with a small white head. The aroma was malty and sweet with a bit of flowery hops. The flavor was also malty with bready yeast and some graininess.

Probably the best beer at Sullivan’s in Baton Rouge, which is kind of a shame. There are good beers to be had in Baton Rouge. Not sure why Tin Roof isn’t being served on tap here. Perfect venue. So yeah, it says it’s a Helles Doppelbock on the bottle. Shared 2 of these with a co-worker at a dinner at the aforementioned location. I was a bit taken aback at the light color. While the hop bite is fine, but minimal, why not sub some Munich malt for some of the 2-Row and give this a little more body? Could have been a much better beer, but it seems like the thought was not given to complexity.

Pour is a clear yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a sweet malt with some honey. Flavor is more grainy malt with a little sweetness and wet paper bag. This was way underwhelming. Basicly a sweeter pale lager.

22oz bomber poured into a shaker. Pours a clear gold with minimal head. Aroma is skunk, caramel, and something very weird. It smells like when you first walk in to do a brewery tour, that somewhat sweet smell of fermenting malt. Either that or those little pellets that you feed animals at a petting zoo. Taste is medium sweet. Skunk, caramel and horse shit. Medium bodied with a somewhat sticky texture. Soft carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, this beer sucks hard. Even though I got it off the discount rack for 3 bucks, it’s still not worth it. It’s called Andygator because it’s "a creature of the swamp", well this creature has died in the swamp and is starting to rot. Each sip I take, I hate Abita even more...

A golden beer with a small white head. The aroma is honey, grain, and caramel. The flavor is nutty caramel and corn, not very good though.

good for the BBQ/fish fry. light on the palate & belly. not much going on flavor-wise but still fine to enjoy a few (responsibly!).

22oz bottle - pours clear gold with quickly diminishing white head and no lacing. Nose is caramel malts. Aroma is even maltier with a hoppy finish. Taste is very sweet at first and gradually becomes fairly bitter. Flavors are simple. Mouth feel is almost burning due to high alcohol, thus creating that dry finish. If I were to blind taste test this beer, I would compare it to cheap high gravity malt liquor. It gets the job done, but it’s not pretty.

(#43) 22oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Appearance: Hazy golden yellow with minimal head that retains some bubbles. Aroma: Sweet. Pineapple, oranges, lemon, honey, banana maybe some light grape. Taste: Sweet up front. Honey, cereal, more citrus fruits, oatmeal. Has a somewhat tangy wave of flavor through the middle. Bitter aftertaste that isn’t bad, but isn’t good either. Palate: Med bodied. Good amoutnt of carbonation. It’s smooth but not fond of that lingering aftertaste. Overall: It’s alright. I most likely won’t buy it again, but nice to have tried it.
