2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 EithCubes (3048) - GERMANY - JUL 15, 2008
Bottle. Grainy, mashy, sweet, yeasty, dusty, mostly pale malt nose.Deep orange pour with a pretty, creamy beige head. Some purple grape and booze showing in the taste, otherwise yeast and sweet malt, a touch of candy and caramel but finishing a bit too grainy. Medium body with some mint. Eh.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheBeerOrg (1977) - Crestwood, Kentucky, USA - JUL 14, 2008
Pours dark golden with mostly receding wispy off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, light caramel, cookie. Taste is malty, toasted bread, sweet wort, earthy malt. Mouthfeel is full bodied with moderate carbonation. I find many bocks too sweet for my taste, but I think this beer does a good job in that regard.

Poured a nice amber color with a couple of fingers of head. Not much lacing though as the head dropped. Slightly cloudy. Nice malt smell and taste. Just a slight hops bitterness in aftertaste. Easy to drink and I would not have guessed the ABV at over 6, although the alcohol came out just a bit on the final drink after it warmed.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cletus (6025) - Connecticut, USA - APR 14, 2008
Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of biscuits, sweet malt. Tastes of sweet malt, roses, some hints of pepper and a decent earthy finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 FishManLA (337) - Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA - APR 2, 2008
Amber/brown color with a light tan head. Malty is the operative word on this one. Malt is the prominent note on the nose as well as in the taste. Also, hoppy, slightly bitter, just a little bit of biscuit/bread taste and a little alcohol ring on the finish. If you’re familiar with Shiner Bock, this one is quite similar. Abita gets my nod as the better of the two, by a slight margin.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cajun (180) - Lafayette, Louisiana, USA - MAR 30, 2008
Sample Tasting - Amber color with white head. Sweet malt aroma with notes of grain, nuts, caramel. Flavors rich malted grain, brown sugar, biscuit dough, caramel. Slight hops finish, but it’s more malty than anything.

On tap. Deep amber pour. Aromas of sweet & caramel malts, some fruit. Sweet taste with decent malt backbone. Of the better Abitas
