COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Bock is brewed with Perle hops and British pale and caramel malts. Our Bock is similar to a German Maibock in its high malt content, full body and slightly higher alcohol content. Available January-March.

(12oz bottle, labeled “Mardi Gras Bock”, courtesy of Dixonian) Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of grain, grass, and caramel. Flavor of caramel, cereal, and toasted grain with a mildly bitter finish.

I felt like the malts weren’t supported in this beer. One dimensional with a caramel malt flavor throughout. Not too bad and very easy to drink but doesn’t have the depth of many other similar bocks.

Pours a clear copper color with a quickly disappearing fluffy white head. Aroma of sweet malts with some caramel and nuts. Flavor is very sweet with hints of toasted malts and a hint of hops. Very easy to drink.

The bock I enjoyed was from the tap and was referred to as "Mardi Gras". The aroma is primarily nutty with notes of vanilla and caramel. The head is white and vanishes fast. The beer is an attractive amber. The flavor is comprised of nuts and caramel with a strong backing of vanilla. It is silky on the palate, almost creamy and has a pleasant aftertaste.

Hoppy bock here people. Nice, this brew is groovy. A tad sweet up front, but not too much. Something smells afoul at first whiff, but all is well after taking the sip. Flow of the brew moves from sweet, to mild malt, to hop intervention, back to sweet. The sweet remains throughout. Color is a clear tan with amber highlighst that also present copper resemblance. Mood is mellow, taste is still sweet. Great brew here. Its a party in a box.

Bottle courtesy someone. Might have been Danny. He seems the type. Pours a clear light orange color with a foamy white head. Aroma is sweet malts and light bread. Flavor is dry wheat and grain. Light sweetness. Leafy flavor as well with a drying finish.

Bottle from Cavie. Orange pour with a small white head. Aroma is light and caramel and malty. Herbal, kinda buttery, caramel, and a dry hop finish.

Clear orange-amber with an off-white head. Aroma of pale and caramel malt and corn flakes. Tastes like beer and cereal, but its not bad. Medium bodied, crisp and easy drinking. Not great but it’s drinkable. It is Abita, after all, keep your expectations in check and you won’t be disappointed.
