Flavor is more intense, sweet and spicy, almost like a seasonable winter style beer. Plenty of caramel, like caramel popcorn, and good seasonal spices.. Medium body with moderate lacing.. not bad, but not stellar.

Golden Bock, medium bitterness, sweet aroma. A lighter Bock, that still packs a bite. Could easy be confused for a Mai-bock.

This is a good bock. Nothing to special but it tastes like a bock. I enjoy it and would drink it again.

Lightly sweet aroma with a nice light amber color and a white head. Slightly sweet flavor with a clean crisp finish.

New Beer Distributors, NY 355ml ($2): Pours a clear orange with a quickly dissipating head that leaves lacing. Aroma is candy and mild fruitiness. Taste is not that heavy. There just really ain’t enough of this. It sort of tastes like Jolly Ranchers light (without as much crappy artificial taste). Slightly sweet. Very uninteresting.

Clear golden amber pour. Typical lager aroma and almost smells like an Oktoberfest. Minimal malt taste - leaves something more to be desired. A good session beer, but not much more.

Draft. Light malty aroma. Amber pour with thin white head. Tastes malty but very plain. Not a very interesting beer.

On tap at Stubby’s as Mardi Gras Bock. Clear amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma is faint with toasted pale malt and a touch of grains. Taste is pale and noble with light semi-floral hops and middle-of-the-road sweetness. Kinda boring which is par for the course for Abita.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-amber color with a huge fluffy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet table sugar and a faint vegetal presence. The flavor was tangy table sugar that fell into dryness with faint vague candied fruits underneath. Medium length tangy table sugar finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok.
