Abita Bock is brewed with Perle hops and British pale and caramel malts. Our Bock is similar to a German Maibock in its high malt content, full body and slightly higher alcohol content. Available January-March.

Poured a nice finger and half of head on a clear, dark copper colored body. The aroma is barnyard and and bread in a weird way. The taste starts out with grain, then a malty sweetness and finishes with a white sugar sweet. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation and medium body. It’s a borderline below average drink. the taste had a artificial sweetness to it and the body didn’t support the style.

Mardi Gras Bock pours as a caramel colored body with a pleasant white head. Aroma is malty and laced with caramel. First taste begins with a malt driven solid flavor that is semi sweet and finishes mildly bitter with lingering caramel notes. A good brew overall, a solid dinner pairing for red meat dishes.

Not a huge fan. Only set me back a buck fifty, but it’s a thin, seltzery beer that’s well below average for the style. Slightly bready malty and sweet, but generic and boring as well.

Bottle purchased as part of a mixed sixer at Kroger Stoneridge. Clear amber pour with a thick beige head. Aroma of malt, sweetness, caramel, lager yeast and light noble hop. Malty flavor with sweet caramel, light fruit and light hop before a sweet finish.

Disappointed. No aroma and a light color with a watery palate. Malty flavor of old bread with a slight hops presence.

Drinking the Abita Christmas Bock. Too hoppy and bitter for my taste. It was a gift so I’m not out money for trying it. Have the remaining bottles to use as marinade for brats.

Clear orange with a thin off white head. Slightly sweet malty aroma. Sweet medium bodied and smooth right to style ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Copper pour. Nose of candied caramel and light fruit. Light minerals and some diacetyl. Flavor is lager/light adjunct malt with a touch of fruit and caramel. Light bitterness. Not great, but certainly better than a good number of the ratings.

bottle as Mardi Gras Bock - Pours dark gold with a one finger off-white head. It has a light, caramel malt aroma. It tastes of sweet malt with a little caramel and hops bitterness that while still fairly mild, is more bitter than usual for a bock. Overall it’s drinkable but struggles to reach average quality.

Move along, nothing much to see here. Nice label. Pretty average nondeScript beer.

Slight orange hue, thick foamy light creme head. Nose is malt. Bittersweet. Middle is toffee & caramelized malt, like liquid bread. Finish has a little hop kick, but stays mostly sweet.
