COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Bock is brewed with Perle hops and British pale and caramel malts. Our Bock is similar to a German Maibock in its high malt content, full body and slightly higher alcohol content. Available January-March.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper golden with a small frothy off white head that diminshes quickly. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is a toasted malt with raisin and wheat grass. The taste is a sweet malt with yeast and raisin. A decent heller bock from Abita.

Bottle. Hmm, how did I miss this one this whole time? Extremely light for a bock, I was thinking exactly the same thing that the most recent rater thought: that it looks more like a pilsener. The taste is decidedly non-bockish, but as it stands, it would be a decent sports watching beer and I’ll rate it as such. A little effervescent and otherwise, it’s pretty much an amber ale with some chocolate thrown in.

Pale amber appearance with a small, off white head and sparce lacing. Caramel malt aroma with a touch of sour fruit. Sweet, malty taste followed by some harsh alcohol notes; low keyed hop presence. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. Dry, acidic finish.

I thought this was a nice bock beer that didnt taste like it had 6.4%. Very sessionable and light for the style.

Might be my favorite of their line, which really isn’t saying much. I have great reservations as I’ve had good and bad samples. A beer can be infectious or infected. Beware of he latter.

Now called Mardi Gras Bock. Musty malty caramel aroma with some mango and earth. Sweet and malty in flavor with hints of smoke. Strange, nutty, cheap bourbon like finish.

Yep, had a decent caramel flavor. Something about the taste annoyed me after three beers, and i’m not too sure what it was, nor do i personally care too much either, because i probably wont be buying this stuff again, unless however, my only other choices are Coors Light and Bud light.
