COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Bock is brewed with Perle hops and British pale and caramel malts. Our Bock is similar to a German Maibock in its high malt content, full body and slightly higher alcohol content. Available January-March.

Nice maibock. 12 oz. bottle to lager glass. Pours copper with white short-lived head, small amount of lacing. Initial impression is fruit and bread. Very nice smooth brew in the mouth. Some bitter on the tongue with a light malt in the finish. Not spectacular, but very drinkable.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2004 Decent Maibock take-off. Fairly rich, fruity malt flavor, and nice smooth body.

gold and bubbly. (although I was expecting a dark color, this is more of a maibock thing) has that characteristic Abita ’clear water’ taste in the background - it works this time - mellows out the super sweet malts. this is very nice.

Very similar overtones to the turbodog. Very malty with a carbonated finish with a small amount of hops. Sometimes this comes across as too sweet, but I like it nonetheless.

Yellow body, lots of billowing head. Sweet corn and lemon aroma, hints of bubblegum. Some nice flavor hints, leaning toward a hefeweizen (?!), some faint spicy notes even. LIghtly fruity finish. Yet, all told, mild in flavor. Moderately frothy palate. Sessionable, drinkable, even vaguely likable, but they call this a bock? Oh well.

Very clear amber with a white head. Spicy yeasty aroma with sulfer/ burnt rubber. Light/ medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Decent grainy malt, lightly sweet caramel flavor. Not too bad.

Another nice brew from Abita! I have to try the rest of their brews. Anyway, a real nice bock with a smooth after taste. Maybe not one I would track down but definitely a beer I’d order again with no hesitation.
