COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Bock is brewed with Perle hops and British pale and caramel malts. Our Bock is similar to a German Maibock in its high malt content, full body and slightly higher alcohol content. Available January-March.

This bottled marked best before 6/17 did not state what year it was bottled int? This brew poured a large sized head of fine to large sized off-white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a poor lacing. The body was a carbonated transparent orange brown color. The aroma was malty and not bock like. The mouth feel had a medium tingle that smoothened in the finish. Its sweet and malty flavor went down easily.

(12oz bottle, labeled “Mardi Gras Bock”, courtesy of Dixonian) Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of grain, grass, and caramel. Flavor of caramel, cereal, and toasted grain with a mildly bitter finish.

Clear copper pour with a thin tan head. Sweet and malty aroma. Earthy malt taste, some caramel and medium carbonation. Nothing really exciting.

Abita seems good a brewing down the middle brews. Most are drinkable but none excell in their respective styles.

Amber pour with a thin white head. Sweet caramel aroma, flavor is a little grainy. Not great but a nice change of pace.

Brown with a good head. Doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of hops going on, but I’m at least getting a taste of it unlike the other brown ales and bocks I’ve had recently.

Abita makes another solid beer that is crisp and clean with little lingering. The Bock has solid flavor without being overpowering.
