2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
One of the 12-oz bottles sampled from the Abita Party Pack, acquired from Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear light amber brew with a thin and fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a fine white ring and no lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt and some grassy hops. Taste is light to medium bodied, well-carbonated with some caramel malt and citrus zest. Finish is watery, with a semi-sweet caramel malt aftertaste. One of the lightest bock beers I have tried.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured into a tulip glass. Light haze, coppery gold color. Thin head and light lacing. Aroma: cereal, caramel. Taste: medium sweetness, a little sour. Not too heavy for a bock, I enjoyed it and would buy again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A lightly hazed golden bock with a thick frothy off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light fruity notes, grassy hops, OK. In mouth, grainy cereal malt with light grassy hops, roasted character, not bad.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle at home from backlog notes. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted biscuity malts, mild sweetness, some moderate fruity character, mild butterscotch, just very average in everything. Moving on.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled from Costplus. Light amber in color. Sweet nose. Some malts and grains with a bit of an off scent. Fairly dry and a little sweet. Not as sweet as it smells though. Lightly hopped. Drinkable, but nothing special.

3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is the Mardi Gras Bock Seasonal. I get no aroma from this beer. Appearance is a dark golden amber, perhaps a little light for the style. Just the right amount of carbonation. Sweeter taste with a caramel malt finish. The finish was not there when it was cold, but as it started to warm, the finish became more pronounced.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours pale amber with ample, frothy white head. Aroma is bananas and yeast - banana bread? Flavor is same with grassy notes - definitely on the sweet side. Hops - what hops? No evidence. There are no off notes; a pleasant, drinkable, SWEET beer. Maybe its a southern thing.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle (labeled Mardi Gras Bock) best by 5/26/14 poured into dimpled mug. Sparkling medium caramel color with a thin foamy off-white head that melts away into a slick after a few minutes. Malty, earthy, slightly sour aroma. Light caramel malt flavor. Oddly this doesn’t have any distinct aftertaste. It just kind of... stops. This comes off as rather thin and watery. Unimpressive overall.

Nice looking beer. Bitter and hoppy flavor. Too bitter for my liking. Nice colored beer

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a golden amber with a large white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is malty. Nice and creamy on the palate. Malt profile is forward on first tasting with a hint of caramel. Lightly hopped with no bitterness. A decent bock but not top tier. Pairs well with burgers and brats off the grill.
