Skyview (2851), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Dec 31, 2007 One of the 12-oz bottles sampled from the Abita Party Pack, acquired from Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear light amber brew with a thin and fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a fine white ring and no lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt and some grassy hops. Taste is light to medium bodied, well-carbonated with some caramel malt and citrus zest. Finish is watery, with a semi-sweet caramel malt aftertaste. One of the lightest bock beers I have tried.
nearbeer (1235), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 7, 2008 12 oz. Burnt orange with a small lasting head that leaves some nice lacing. Grain and sour apple aroma. Flavors of molasses, sour apple candy, grain, dry grass and alcohol. Light-medium body is mildy carbonated and finishes dryish. EithCubes (1804), Indiana, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle. Grainy, mashy, sweet, yeasty, dusty, mostly pale malt nose.Deep orange pour with a pretty, creamy beige head. Some purple grape and booze showing in the taste, otherwise yeast and sweet malt, a touch of candy and caramel but finishing a bit too grainy. Medium body with some mint. Eh. TheBeerOrg (1376), Kentucky, USA Jul 14, 2008 Pours dark golden with mostly receding wispy off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, light caramel, cookie. Taste is malty, toasted bread, sweet wort, earthy malt. Mouthfeel is full bodied with moderate carbonation. I find many bocks too sweet for my taste, but I think this beer does a good job in that regard. jcurtis55 (14), Plainfield, Indiana, USA Jul 14, 2008 Poured a nice amber color with a couple of fingers of head. Not much lacing though as the head dropped. Slightly cloudy. Nice malt smell and taste. Just a slight hops bitterness in aftertaste. Easy to drink and I would not have guessed the ABV at over 6, although the alcohol came out just a bit on the final drink after it warmed. blutt59 (683), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 12, 2008 bottle, nut brown color with slight head, very good flavors of hops and malt with chocolate and coffee highlights, very nice
