12 oz. bottle. Nice amber color with decent head. Malty flavors with a hoppy finish. Nothing great about this one. Not very well balanced. Better the colder it is. Doesn’t say much for flavors.

Tasted from a 12 oz bottle purchased in Fort Collins, Colorado. Pours a dark red/orange appearance with a fairly large red/white head. Sort of hoppy and amber malty head reminiscent of a red ale. Flavor is very much like a spiced red ale- a bit hoppy with amber malts and a touch of spices. Not too great.

2010 silver label. Pours a deep amber red with a small white head. Nose is sweet malt. Taste is pretty lackluster, flat, lifeless and bland. There’s a bit of cinnamon in there and the malt provides a bit of sweetness. Unfortunately, there seems to be a slightly offensive aftertaste akin to what I get from diet pop. Not an awful beer, but certainly not something I’d drink again.

Enjoyed on tap at the Carousel Bar in the Hotel Monteleone. What a great bar!! It goes around and around. Do you know how many famous people have sat at/in that bar? TONS!! Great spot for a drink when you’re in NOLA. The beer was malty, light to medium sweet, hint of caramel.

Pours slightly hazy brownish-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is weak, but has notes of caramel malt, sweet fruit and a little floral hops. Taste is bland, almost like unsweetened tea with a bit of beer spilled into it. Malt and hops are present, just really weak. The beer is ok for a session, but isn’t something I would look forward to. It really does taste more like iced tea than beer...

(12oz bottle). Pours hazy amber with 1 finger off-white head. Active carbonation. Aroma of cardboard, nuts and dried fruit. Malty sweet with a cardboard aftertaste. Medium bodied with thin texture. To date, my favorite Abita beer I’ve had. Sad.

12oz. Bottle (2010 Vintage): Aroma of roasted malt, light piney hops, light chocolate, and slight nuts. Poured orange/amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of malt, slight roasting, hops, pine, slight chocolate, water, and some nuts. Light to medium body. Average texture. Malt, hops, nut and slight caramel is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Not very good.

Nice Aroma is a smooth, cool, malty aroma. The color is a clean, clear, reddish brown and gold around the edges, with a light tan head that quickly fades. The flavor is mostly bitter throughout, with a bite that lingers for the aftertaste, but it does have a little bit of sweetness to it and a touch of dryness to round it out. It has a little bit of fizziness that gives it some body to compliment the slick texture. Overall, I like it, but it doesn’t do much to distinguish itself in a stacked category.
