Has a flavor more like Newcastle than anything else, but a touch lighter. Makes for a great Christmas beer, as it should. A nice change from the Fall Fest.

Nice Aroma is a smooth, cool, malty aroma. The color is a clean, clear, reddish brown and gold around the edges, with a light tan head that quickly fades. The flavor is mostly bitter throughout, with a bite that lingers for the aftertaste, but it does have a little bit of sweetness to it and a touch of dryness to round it out. It has a little bit of fizziness that gives it some body to compliment the slick texture. Overall, I like it, but it doesn’t do much to distinguish itself in a stacked category.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 PalCabral (43) - SWEDEN - DEC 5, 2011
Bottle from Systembolaget. Classic american aroma, hoppy tones of citrus and spice. Beautiful mahogany red-brown clear colour, with a wheat malt type of head that never really settles. Taste is pretty normal american microbrew brown ale, quite tasty. Hops dominate, as is norm, but there is some caramel malt sweetness and munich malt stamina. Unfortunately slightly watery which pulls down the mouthfeel. Standard US microbrew brown ale, not very x-massy but a good beer never the less. Up the alcohol a bit and there’s a great winter warmer.

looks good, tastes bland. Not that disappointing considering I haven’t loved much from Abita... Beer of the Month.

2002, Spiced aroma and clear appearance. Slightly spicy in taste but not bitter. A bit sweet up front but odd aftertaste.

Nice medium brown, long lasting head. Reddish brown color. Light malty aroma. Subtle maltiness. Smooth drinking.

Pours a reddish brown with a very small white head that dissipates quickly. Mild aroma of hops and a kind of sour funk. The taste has a sharp bitterness up front along with that weird funk from from the smell. Fades to a very slight toasted malt flavor. I can’t say I enjoyed this offering very much. The flavors just did not play well together.
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Kco (31) - USA - APR 9, 2012
Medium amber color, week head minimal lacing. Good balance of hops and malt. Crisp clean finish.

First rating so I hope this goes well!
12 oz. draft during the pub crawl and re-tasted the draft at a local bar. Off white head and pours nicely. Appearance is amber and taste is somewhat nutty and toasty. The beer finishes with a very soapy taste. Not too bad for a seasonal from Abita.

A wise person once remarked that "Looks can be deceiving". The good news: this beer tastes almost exactly like what a watered-down Belhaven would taste like. The bad news: this beer tastes almost exactly like what a watered-down Belhaven would taste like.
