3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
THOUGHTS: Nothing really special and not at all really Christmasy. Just a well-made, nicely-balanced amber ale. Fairly British.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark amber that was nearly brown in the glass with a large to huge, beige head that diminished very slowly and left good lacing. The aroma had moderate toasted and nutty malts; light caramel; moderate resinous and earthy hops; and light floral and citrus hops. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and bitter; while the finish was slightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic with an average to long duration. There was caramel, citrus hops, toasted and nutty malts, earthy and resinous hops and burnt malt. The light to medium body was a little watery with soft carbonation and an ever so slightly metallic if anything finish.

Pours a nice dark amber color. Aromas of burnt malts, dark fruit, and some spice. Flavors of caramel, a touch a chocolate and nutmeg?

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a golden amber color with a small white head. The aroma is a giant hop blast. The taste matches the aroma. An excellent beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a dark copper color with a decent head. Aroma of pine, citrus, bit of malt sweetness and spice. Taste of malt sweetness, bit of pine and spice. Decent bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, smooth with a hint of the season. Hoped for a bit more in a holiday offering.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Rather uninspired. Appearance is a cloudy dark gold. Aroma is faint. Taste is rather bland and even slightly off putting with a skunky aftertaste. Very disappointed. Would definitely not recommend.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange/brown pour, finger off white head. Nose is tangerines, hint of booze. Bittersweet. Middle is pine & spruce tips (some bark floating there too), bitter citrus peel, and medium roasted malt. Finish is bitter. Little out of balance.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Most winter beers fall in one place for me: the middle. They’re typically not ones to teeter to the bad or the great, but this one teeters more toward the former direction and I’m not totally sure why. I guess it’s because it’s more bitter than a winter beer typically is, but it’s not terrible.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Smells like a Christmas tree....so it's got that. Pours a cloudy reddish honey amber with a thick foamy very light tan head. Pine, earth, bitter finish. Thin mouthfeel. It's not bad or anything.

Bottle. Red. Spruce tree and pine. Very Christmassy. Solid for the gimmick of a holiday beer. Wouldn't get it again.
