Pours a somewhat dark brown with a light tan head and not too much lacing as it goes down. Nose is pretty plain with hints of nuttiness, caramel, and a bit of bread. Taste is similar and the nuttiness is a bit off putting. Mouthfeel is somewhat astringent and light. Not terribrly drinkable. Im not normally a fan of many things by Anita but I’ve liked a lot of heir offerings more than this. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-29-2010

A nice looking copper colored beer with an almost non-existent white head. The aroma is entirely malty, some nuttiness and roasted coffee. The flavor is thin but has notes of weak malt. Overall, nothing memorable, just average malt characteristics.

their is something lacking in this beer. its got all the necessary qualities that makes for a marzen but doesn’t have any of the substance. its malts is not flavorful and become kind of lacking at the end.

Bottle. Pours a light amber color with very little head. This is very malty, almost to the point of being sour. It’s definitely a tad bitter. Not one of my faves.

Pours a yellow color with a hint of orange. Has a clean aroma with a slight mixed malt smell. Taste is clean and crisp. The mixed malt and hops comes through in the taste. Aftertaste of filtered water with a dissipating malt flavor. A decent not complex beer.

Clear golden color with two finger head and some lacing. Not much more than aroma of malt. Malt in taste and faint corn with some earthy bitterness. Moderate mouthfeel and carbonation. Mediocre marzen. Probably wouldn't buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I expected more from Abita - usually a reliable micro. No head to the pour - looks like weak, watered down iced tea. Has a bit of a funky metallic, rotten vegetable aroma to it and the metallic character carries over to the flavor and the palate. Searching - but cannot find anything positive to say about this one.

(anyone check the pic here? Amarcord? Fellini this beer is NOT) This is OKAY, and not much better. If you happen upon one I hope it’s either fresh or that Abita has improved their filtration.

Great color but thats abotu all it has going for it. Distiguished malt and hops after taste. It’s nothing special.

A-- Poured a carmel color with a one finger head. moderate carbonation and a little bit of lacing. S-- A little bit of roasted malts, a touch of pecan. Not much else. T-- A little carmel, pecan and roasted malts. M-- Well carbonated. The pecan comes through more in the mouthfeel but not all that apparent. Very light and not all that flavorful. D-- Good drinkability but not much to this beer. not a good fall beer at all. A session beer with not a lot of flavor and not much else to it.
