COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale is made with English Pale, Lager, Crystal and Cara Pils malted barley. We liberally hopped and dry hopped our Ale with American Cascade and Centennial hops and fermented it with California Ale yeast. The result is a brilliant gold ale with a rich body, mild bitterness and a snappy fresh citrus hop flavor and aroma.

Bottle. Light golden yellow in color with a bubbly head. Malty hoppy aroma. Thin. Flavor is lacking. No hop bite. Thin tasting. I donít like it. Plain.

Bottle. Pours light gold with a big bubbled head. Aroma is a muted malt with just the faintest of hops. Taste is lackluster, which is the best thing I can say about the stuff. Just plain boring. I had hoped for a lot more from Abita, as I think their stuff is a lot better than it had be, but this is just plain beer. Not worth the loss of brain cells to even finish.

Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale brewed by the Abita Brewing Company of Abita Springs, LA. I was fortunate enough to pay the Abita Brewery a vist back in 2001, and have been a big fan of this brewery for a number of years. Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale is their latest beer, and $1 from every six pack of this beer sold will go to the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation to aid in the recovery efforts in the city of New Orleans. The Fluer-de-lis is the symbol of the city of New Orleans, and Abita plays tribute to the city with a fresh, delicious, golden ale. Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale pours to a beautiful, bright, golden color with a tight, white head that fades, and a moderate amount of carbonation. This nose on this beer is very pleasing with lots of good floral and citrus hop aromas. The palate is firm with good, crisp, pale and biscuity malt flavor paired with a nice back drop of light, estery fruit flavor. Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale finishes with more good pale malt flavors up front, then ends with a pleasing, mild hop bitterness that balances, and slightly lingers. This is a well done, balanced golden ale with excellent hop and malt character. A very solid beer that would match with a number of dishes from spicy Cajun and Creole, to German, to a nice grilled NY strip steak. Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale makes for a nice aperitif beer, and a good drinking/session beer as well.

Golden clear color, nice thick head. I wouldíve called this a light pale ale, it had a very hoppy citrus grapefruit taste to it, with a nice hop bite. I liked this in that it was hoppy but not very hoppy and itís nice to switch to something like that after a dark beer.

Gold pour with 2-finger white head. Aroma was of heavy noble hops, citrus, some honey, malt, and fruit. Not a bad aroma. The flavor was a letdown after sniffing this one. I got some hopcit and slight fruit plus some phenols. Watery palate. Buying this one made me feel good, but drinking it did not.

Pours copper with a smell but stubborn white head. Smells of soap, straw and some grass. Taste is of rice, some coriander and breaddy. Finish is watery, but not as bad as some have rated prior. Definitely drinkable if a bit bland.

Bottle. Poured a clear amber with a huge frothy white head that lasted. Good balanced malt and hop and grain aroma. Medium body with thin texture. Light sweet grainy flavor in a light finish. To soft of a close.

Clear amber body. Grainy tart aroma of corn. Weak flavor - stewed corn. New Orleans isnít going to be rebuilt on this crap.

Pale gold, short head but good lacing. Aroma is floral, herbs, perfume. Tasted lightly sweet with light dusting of herbal hop. Perfume kept lingering on and not in a good way.

Transparent and magnifying yellow-gold in color with multi saliva wisps for the head. Aroma discourages with lemon poppyseeds, dandelions, chlorine and corn. Flavor is slightly more optimistic. Light, sugarless cornbread motif. Small suggestion of a crescent roll complex partnered with lilac floral traits. Low resistance (save the retching) on the palate and mildly carbonated, finishing like a face plant in momís carnations. Iím more likely to donate four times the amount of money directly to a hurricane relief effort than to drink this charitable concoction again.
