3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 1, 2013 From a "Restoration Pale Ale" bottle 9/2012, pours a crystal clear gold with plenty of head, strong aroma of paleness. Tastes pretty good actually, stark contrast to other Abita’s I’ve had. Sessionable for sure. UPDATE: I stand by my comments and repeat what I said the first time.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle at Louisiana Kitchen. Surprised I’d never rated. Hazy orange color. Light, malty aroma. Some fruitiness as well. Clean and very drinkable. Not overly sweet with a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Clean enough to go nice with the spice of the food.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light, summery session ale with more character than most in this category. Murky gold topped by a head that was as thick as it was persistent. Nice fruity aroma - mango, OJ, pineapple. Good body. Moderate bitterness - above average for this style so long as you don’t expect a hop bomb. Good solid malt foundation here. Bright, tangy hops. Overall, great balance. I liked this more than I expected to after a few ho-hum Abitas. (355ml bottle from Carrington Cellars, Katoomba)

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy, amber colored, moderate white creamy head, nice lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel, candy-fruity, orange and tropical fruit, hard candy. Taste is medium- sweet caramel malt, hard fruity candy, oranges. Low bitterness. Light bodied, thin, moderate carbonation. Meh, I guess it took a beating on route from the brewery to Croatia...

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
My Bottom Line:
Poorly-defined sugary cereals dominate this underhopped Pale Ale, yielding a rather boring pint.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the cloudy beige.
-Drinkability could be higher; this is sweetish for the style.
-In a blind tasting, I would not have billed this as a Pale Ale. The hops are that shy...
-There is little flavor nuance to speak of in here.
On tap at Acme Oyster Bar, New Orleans.

Cask. Hazy dark orange with small foamy white head, grassy hops aroma, low carbonation, slightly sweet hoppy taste, thin body, abrupt finish. Quite smooth but a bit weak.
