Commercial Description:
Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale is made with English Pale, Lager, Crystal and Cara Pils malted barley. We liberally hopped and dry hopped our Ale with American Cascade and Centennial hops and fermented it with California Ale yeast. The result is a brilliant gold ale with a rich body, mild bitterness and a snappy fresh citrus hop flavor and aroma.

12oz bottle. Now before I have even tried this beer. I have had rather dismal comments. But in all truthfulness, I am assuming that this is a smooth, light character, easy drinking, working in the backyard or getting sloppily drunk while yelling at random drunk people riding past you at three miles per hour, type of beer. And lets see if this is a beer I could drink all day at Mardi Gras...Hazy and light golden with an orangish hue. decent white head and an aroma of citrus. Good yeasty nose as well. Super lively and citrus driven. Almost candy-ish in the mouth. Literally sweet. Behind the initial taste explosion, which also surprised me, was a nice mild biscuity malt character. Cold, crisp and smooth. More bite and off-dry. Granted, this will not win any major awards, but that’s not why its here. It’s easy for when you need copious amounts of libations and still have clarity enough to demand something with a little character. And while I’m neither French nor Catholic, this will be joining me on Saturday in Soulard!

Light amber color with thin head and slight malt aroma. Mild bitterness and little hop taste and mild malt profile. Not much going on, it’s thin on the tongue but basically refreshing.

Bottle. Not so good. Watery mouthfull, lacking in depth, void of exciting or challenging flavour, no real finish to speak of. Quite an uneventful "restoration" this turned out to be.

12oz bottle 7/20/08-A light amber body with a small white head which emits an aroma of hops and citrus. The flavor is the same with a slight malt and cleanser taste. This light to medium bodied brew is not bad but nothing to write home about.

Bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Sweet aroma with floral hops and caramel. Medium body. Flavor is again sweet with caramel, floral, grass, and a touch of citrus. Not bad.

Bottle from Frugal McDugal. Pours amber orange with a white head. Aroma of wet grains, floral hops, cara pils, and just a hint of lemon. Light bodied with a watery texture and macro like carbonation. Initial flavor of english pale malts and biscuit, countered by a stale citrus and herbal hoppiness. Short, dry and crisp bitterness. This tastes like a decent pale that was watered down. Way too thin and watery.
