COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Golden is a crisp, clean continental lager. Just four ingredients is all it takes: American malt, Mt. Hood hops, German lager yeast and pure Abita spring water. As the name applies, Abita Golden has a brilliant gold color.

As American lagers go, this one is better than most. It has a grassy hop aroma with plenty of malt. The appearance is pale golden and the head is smallish. The flavor is evenly balanced between bitter and sweet. The malt is bread like and there is a hay like quality to it. The palate is average for the style and there is a little bit of a corn taste in the finish but I have to say this is a good lager. It doesn’t have the metallic or garbage taste so common to American lagers.

Fizzy, short lived head atop a clear golden body with tons of bubbles. Light lemon aroma. Taste is dry, with subtle floral german style hops. Finish is fruity.

Abita has very little aroma except for some hardly noticible spiceness. The color is a light golden and the head is white. No aftertaste is detected but the taste is not unpalatable.

This was really not good, I got it in that damn sampler and therefore i drank it. It was golden clear, boring old malt aroma with water aroma and the same in the body, not good.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with tiny fast rising bubbles and a thin white head. Aroma is malt (grain, hay) and yeast (sweat, dough) and sweet creamed corn; actually not that pleasant at all, rather boring aroma yet typical of the style. Citric bitter malt flavor that happens to be a bit grainy and mellow. Light bodied and fizzy palate.

thanks goes to biglove from the other site. from the bottle. poured a golden color with a small white head. aroma got some malt and hops, grainsand hints of corn. flavor, the corn comes out a little bit stronger than in the aroma, than came hints of malts and hops. this is a decent summer beer to drink after mowing the lawn.

12 oz bottle from sampler pack. Barely so so. Little to no flavor. Not much better than mass market stuff, but not cheap. Not recommended.

12 oz from sampler - Pours pale golden with a short white head. Aroma is of light grains, malts, and some subtle hops. Flavor is about the same. The palate is surprisingly slick and buttery. Not too bad really but not anything memorable about this one and I likely won’t drink it again.
