COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Golden is a crisp, clean continental lager. Just four ingredients is all it takes: American malt, Mt. Hood hops, German lager yeast and pure Abita spring water. As the name applies, Abita Golden has a brilliant gold color.

Bottle- As their commercial description says: "Just four ingredients is all it takes"...to make it taste just like Miller Lite!

ah ha! i just now see that this is a lager. no wonder i didn’t dig it. really a bland, unremarkable beer in general. quite a step down from turbo dog.

Crisp. Dry. Not unlike a Sapporo, if you like that sort of brew. Some spice - like a good bowl of jambalaya.

No aroma to speak of. Pale gold color with some light cloudiness, which also could have been the condensation on the glass. Somewhat buttery, almost creamy. Nothing special. I would not drink this again.

Grainy malt flavor with a golden color. Hoppy aroma and a nice clean finish. Not excellent, but good none the less.

Clear gold. Thick foamy white head. Furious carbonation. Grainy aroma, toasty and lightly sweet. Herbal hop aroma. Crisp and clean. Dry and quenching. Light bodied. Toasted grain maltiness. Light herbal hop bitterness. Clean lager taste with a minimal aftertaste. Unassuming and suitable for hot weather.

Pretty good, just not a preferred style. Go for their Turbo Dog or even the Purple Haze before this. I would really be into this beer with some crawfish.

This is a wheat beer that abita produces year round. Apparently the brewery intends on improving this beer in the next few months with it’s new machinery. I had no idea it was a wheat beer untill they told me, but oh well. At times, it is a bit more appeasing than the amber because it isn’t as sweet, but amber remains a better beer. It’s a bit thinner, but doesn’t leave that certain something to be desired like any other light beer. It’s less of a wheat beer than thier summer wheat, but has more body to it than the wheat.

A very good lager. The aroma is very inviting and rich and buttery. Flavor is crisp, but not too carbonated. Palate is satisfying and a bit thicker than most mass market lagers.
