COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Golden is a crisp, clean continental lager. Just four ingredients is all it takes: American malt, Mt. Hood hops, German lager yeast and pure Abita spring water. As the name applies, Abita Golden has a brilliant gold color.

I was somewhat surprised with this brew. It looked liked piss water when I poured it with the lightest golden I have ever seen. Aroma was of citrus and spice while the taste was a bit of orange peel and belgian spice. Tasted close to a Blue Moon. Wierd. It was decent but not special. Not really worth my purchase again.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head that diminshes quickly. The aroma is a bread malt and corn. The taste is crisp with a bitter finish. Not too much going on with this lager from Abita.

Very drinkable but very forgettable light lager. I’d take this over an American Macro, but only just.

Poured a clear golden/yellow color with small white head that dissipated rather quickly. Aroma was not real prominent, but a bit malty. Flavor was malty without any real hop presence. Very easy drinking and smooth. Drinkability is very high on this one. Not very complex and not meant to be. Good sessionable lager.

Bottle- Pours a slightly dark golden body. Frothy white foam sits atop. Grassy, hoppy aroma with lemon, bready, grainy nose. Fairly hoppy lemony flavour, doughy, sweet grains, and slightly yeasty towards the finish. Decent bitterness finishes it off. Pretty good.

Pours as is expected: clear straw. No head. Nose smells like a skunks ass. Is this a bad beer. Or is it...just a bad beer overall? Flavor is okay. Kind of grainy and metallic with a very slight sweet tone to it. Leaves a pretty decent sweet aftertaste. Feel is thin on the liquid and pretty good with the carbonation. Overall it has a decent drinkability factor. I mean it is a malt lager and doesn’t really have a strong quality to it. If this is your thing, go for it. If not, I’d say consider passing.

Drank a boatload of this at Lake Bruin. It has a very corny flavor, and I don’t mean cheesy.
