Abita Grapefruit Harvest is a brilliant golden IPA with a subtle zest of grapefruit flavor and aroma that enhances the strong hop character. This bright, snappy brew is made with real Louisiana Ruby-Red grapefruits, pale, pilsner and caramel malts and cascade hops. The strong hop profile and subtle zest of grapefruit make it a good choice with grilled chicken. This brew would also pair well with ceviche or raw Louisiana oysters.

Nice and light! Definitely get the grapefruit off the jump but finish is kind of weak and a little sour. Golden color with practically no head at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy golden with a nice creamy head. Aroma is a strong presence of grapefruit and citrus hops. First taste is hops driven with grapefruit and citrus, mildly sweet. Finishes with a mildly bitter taste that is dominated by grapefruit and citrus. Good pairing for grilled seafood dishes or as an after dinner choice. Not the greatest IPA around but one of the best Abita has to offer.

Meh. Might have a little age. Almost sickly sweet and tart grapefruit, but little else going on with the hops, and more than enough malt. A touch of cardboard. Not bad, but not worth the coin, either.

Bottle poured a hazy tarnished gold with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of bread, grapefruit zest and a hint of yeast. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread and grapefruit zest with a smooth dry lightly bitter lingering grapefruit zest finish.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Boulder Liquor Mart. Pours a pretty clear, golden yellow appearance with a foamy off white head. Sure enough, there is quite a bit of grapefruit juice in the nose. There’s a lot of bland, bitter herbal hops. Spritzy like a soda. Kind of a like a Steigler Grapefruit Radler. Pretty juice. Not super hard to drink. Not my favorite. Ok.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orangish gold body under a one finger frothy white head that left a big of lace. The aroma is fairly intense on the grapefruit, with some citrusy hops, and caramel malt. The flavor is a little heavy on the grapefruit for my tastes, I’m not all that big of a fan of the fruit to start with. Light to moderate citrusy hops and bitterness level up front, with a slight sweetness emerging towards the finish. Lighter bodied with a slight cling and fizzy carbonation. Meh, not one I’d purchase a second time.

Pous a nice medium amber color with white head. Grapefruit pretty much dominates the nose, just a hint of pine; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a small hop bite.

I found this to be a step up from all the shandy type grapefruit stuff that’s been coming around lately. It has a little more beer taste than what’s out there and the 6% is strongest of those I’ve tried. Definitely a summer bbq type drink to be served ice cold. Get it above 7% and put it in a can, and I’ll up the rating.

Twelve ounce bottle from Abita variety 12 pack purchased at Jeff’s Marathon, tasted on March 22, 2015. Hazy medium gold hue, nice aroma of grapefruit/resin/hops, somewhat creamy texture, well balanced bittersweet flavor with prominent grapefruit notes. Fine brew.

Bottle @ NYC Craft Beer festival. Hazy pale yellow with very small whgite foamy head, little citrus aroma, low carbonation, strong grapefruit taste, bitter long finish. Interesting fruity beer.
