COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Grapefruit Harvest is a brilliant golden IPA with a subtle zest of grapefruit flavor and aroma that enhances the strong hop character. This bright, snappy brew is made with real Louisiana Ruby-Red grapefruits, pale, pilsner and caramel malts and cascade hops. The strong hop profile and subtle zest of grapefruit make it a good choice with grilled chicken. This brew would also pair well with ceviche or raw Louisiana oysters.

Nice grapefruit flavor and sharp citrus hops up front. Aroma is similar. A bit thin in the palate, not very bitter, and the flavor fades pretty quickly. A thirst quencher which would make for a good summer seasonal.

Draft at Beer Authority. Murky yellowish color. Grapefruit pith dominates here. Basically just grapefruit pith and some hops. Not particularly bitter, just very grapefruit heavy in general. Not bad, but pretty one dimensional.

Poured a semi hazy orange with a white head. Aroma was earthy hops and grapefruit rind. Flavor similar, overly bitter and rind more than juice.

Appearance: cloud medium gold with a short, short-lived off-white head, patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: grapefruit, bready malt, stone and tropical fruit. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter, mild tart. (7/10) Palate: medium-light body, moderate-low carbonation, off-dry lightly tart finish. (3/5) I might be a touch generous with my rating here, but Iím a sucker for a grapefruit IPA. That said, Iíd like this more if there were more of it. I can see the argument for subtlety, but I donít tend to be a subtle kind of guy. More is always better, right? Good fun, if not great. (13/20)

The grapefruit is there but not a lot. I was pretty disappointed with this one. The flavor is just not that good and has a weird mouthfeel, a hint of dirty water maybe ( which could be the fault of the yard house)

(bottle - 12 oz) Hazy gold pour with a puffy white head. Juicy grapefruit and zesty hop aroma. Flavor has much of the same. Peppery and zesty hops with a good citrus backbone and a lightly bitter finish.

Grapefruit and tangerine nose more of the latter actually. Juicy! Hazy amber, medium head. Grapefruit and lilly initially. A surge of lillies and honeysuckle at midpalate. Honeysuckle finish. Medium body, easy carbonation. Itís becoming cliche in my Abita ratings, but this brewery has been killing it lately.

Draft. Cloudy amber body with large white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some apricot. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit juice, light apricot, peach. Light-medium body, some effervescence. The grapefruit is noticeable, but not hoppy.

Bottle: Hazy reddish yellow in color with minimal head. The aroma was slightly hoppy. The flavor was pink grapefruit and the taste was slightly bitter.

Nice and light! Definitely get the grapefruit off the jump but finish is kind of weak and a little sour. Golden color with practically no head at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy golden with a nice creamy head. Aroma is a strong presence of grapefruit and citrus hops. First taste is hops driven with grapefruit and citrus, mildly sweet. Finishes with a mildly bitter taste that is dominated by grapefruit and citrus. Good pairing for grilled seafood dishes or as an after dinner choice. Not the greatest IPA around but one of the best Abita has to offer.
