COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Grapefruit Harvest is a brilliant golden IPA with a subtle zest of grapefruit flavor and aroma that enhances the strong hop character. This bright, snappy brew is made with real Louisiana Ruby-Red grapefruits, pale, pilsner and caramel malts and cascade hops. The strong hop profile and subtle zest of grapefruit make it a good choice with grilled chicken. This brew would also pair well with ceviche or raw Louisiana oysters.

Hazy amber color in the glass. Very pleasant grapefruit aroma which blends well with the hop aromas. Nice acidity on the palate.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Boulder Liquor Mart. Pours a pretty clear, golden yellow appearance with a foamy off white head. Sure enough, there is quite a bit of grapefruit juice in the nose. Thereís a lot of bland, bitter herbal hops. Spritzy like a soda. Kind of a like a Steigler Grapefruit Radler. Pretty juice. Not super hard to drink. Not my favorite. Ok.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orangish gold body under a one finger frothy white head that left a big of lace. The aroma is fairly intense on the grapefruit, with some citrusy hops, and caramel malt. The flavor is a little heavy on the grapefruit for my tastes, Iím not all that big of a fan of the fruit to start with. Light to moderate citrusy hops and bitterness level up front, with a slight sweetness emerging towards the finish. Lighter bodied with a slight cling and fizzy carbonation. Meh, not one Iíd purchase a second time.

Pous a nice medium amber color with white head. Grapefruit pretty much dominates the nose, just a hint of pine; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a small hop bite.

I found this to be a step up from all the shandy type grapefruit stuff thatís been coming around lately. It has a little more beer taste than whatís out there and the 6% is strongest of those Iíve tried. Definitely a summer bbq type drink to be served ice cold. Get it above 7% and put it in a can, and Iíll up the rating.

Twelve ounce bottle from Abita variety 12 pack purchased at Jeffís Marathon, tasted on March 22, 2015. Hazy medium gold hue, nice aroma of grapefruit/resin/hops, somewhat creamy texture, well balanced bittersweet flavor with prominent grapefruit notes. Fine brew.

Bottle @ NYC Craft Beer festival. Hazy pale yellow with very small whgite foamy head, little citrus aroma, low carbonation, strong grapefruit taste, bitter long finish. Interesting fruity beer.

12 oz bottle. Excellent fruity aroma. Suggests a taste that is sweeter than reality. Lightly hazy amber body with a large white head. Some sweetness up front, then moderatly tart and midly bitter. Plenty of grapefruit and more vaguely citrus fruit.

Bottle. This totally hits a sweet spot for me - absolutely loving this. Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Huge aroma and taste of red grapefruit, but not really tart/sour. Just a bit, but more sweet and juicy. Yummy.

Pours yellow yellow yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is citrusy hops and a very distinct grapefruit rind aroma. Taste is white grapefruit that immediately goes to some muted malts and a mellow bitter finish. All of the flavors are kinda rounded off and watery. Nothing sharp about this one.

Bottle - good size foamy head, hazy medium straw color, definite grapefruit aroma and flavor, but a little more on the sweet side of grapefruit as opposed to bitter, fair malt backbone, pretty good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
