COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The newest Abita brew takes its name and inspiration from the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans. Looking for Indians on Mardi Gras Day is a tradition for many New Orleans families. A cultural phenomenon familiar to residents of the Crescent City, the Mardi Gras Indians are not well known to outsiders and Abita is proud to help share their story with the world.

A decent ipa. Hazy amber brew with a thin, white head. Aromas of mixed fruit and some hops. Tastes of bitter floral/herbal hops, bits of dough, and finishes on a semi-sweet tropical fruit note. This was decent, but a bit lackluster.

Bottle. Aroma is balanced and has some fruity tropical mango hop and toasty malt. The body has a lot of chewiness. There are barely any hops in the flavors. Toasty malts is all. And some diacetyl. It’s ok for what it is which is just an American chewy pale ale.

This is a very drinkable IPA. Some hop character to it--some grapefruit and citrus flavors, bitterish finish--but not a lot. It’s a drinkable beer, but nothing exciting.

Pouurs a nearly clear amber with a 1 finger, fluffy eggshell head that has good retention and leaves some fairly nice lacing.. Aroma is cereal grain, caramel, floral, citrus and spicy hops. Flavor is cereal grain, tree fruit, citrus and spicy hops, light nutty notes and a very english yeast profile. Off dry and moderately carbonated. Pretty good, like an English IPA with American hops.

Orangy/dark yellow pour with nice foamy white head...not very hoppy..which allows some caramel malts to come forward a bit. I enjoyed it..but not my favorite ipa

This is decent, but won’t satisfy the hopheads. A little bitter, but quite balanced with malts.

Pours amber with a good sized beige head. Nose of hops, and caramel malts. . Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is citrus and caramel malts. Light bitter finish. Overall OK.

Okay IPA from Abita, but not my favorite. Pours amber with a thick, pillowy head. Aroma a tad sweet with hops. Taste is light hops with little bitterness. Very light on the palate. If you’re looking for a big IPA, this would not be the best choice.
