COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The newest Abita brew takes its name and inspiration from the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans. Looking for Indians on Mardi Gras Day is a tradition for many New Orleans families. A cultural phenomenon familiar to residents of the Crescent City, the Mardi Gras Indians are not well known to outsiders and Abita is proud to help share their story with the world.

BucannonXC5 (932) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 7, 2012
12-oz. bottle into a pint glass at my house on Nov. 7, 2012 (purchased at World Market in La Mesa (San Diego, Calif.) for $1.99 on Nov. 7, 2012). Caramel amber with two fingers of frothy white head. Good foamy retention on the sides and good on the top as well. Smelled Cascade or Columbus hops (Iím usually pretty bad at knowing which hops are which). Also got sweet floral noted and a bit of dark fruit. Some caramel late and even some rye or iced tea notes. Tasted as a toned down version of the smell. Not as much Cascade hops and got more citrus than I thought I would. Still got that sweet dark fruit taste like the smell. Some pale notes as well. Light-to-medium body. Thin texture. Soft (below average) carbonation. Abrupt and slightly bitter finish. Finished this beer pretty fast, but Iím not sure what that means. Overall it was pretty good but I wasnít completely sold on the feel/palate. A couple of the ratings could have gone either way.

Pretty decent cask at iron horse. Nice citra aroma but a bit too earthy for my tastes. I give this beer 1.2 thumbs up.

Clear red amber beer, creamy beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very fruity, sweet, caramel, malts, honey, bit oxidized, sweet, some raisins. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet, very malty, caramel, nice bitterness, fruity, honey, caramel, sweet, bit hoppy.

HIGHB4LL (656) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 1, 2014
12 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Watford City. Appearance: finger copper head, copper color, clear, ok lacing. Aroma: heavy caramel, grass hops. Palate: medium-light body, average carbonation, bitter finish, sticky and also slightly thin texture. Taste: heavy caramel sweetness, into light grassy hops that grows and becomes more bitter. Overall, nothing special, thinness is off, and transition form sweet to bitter is not smooth.

Bottle; I guess Abita and I agree that all beer should have some malt flavor. I like this IPA probably because itís maltier than most IPAs. Unlike the amber though, I tire of this flavor more quickly.

Clear amber colour, white head. Aroma of hops, honey, malts and apricot. Bitter flavour, apricot, honey, light sweet. Bitter finish, light sweet, apricot. Not bad, feels a bit old but still quite a nice drink.

Bella scoperta questa IPA della abita. Arancio ambrato, splendida schiuma beige lunga e duratura. Buona bevuta.
