The newest Abita brew takes its name and inspiration from the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans. Looking for Indians on Mardi Gras Day is a tradition for many New Orleans families. 12oz bottle. Standard fare IPA aroma of caramel malt and citrus zest hops with a touch of pine. This one’s heavier on the bitter orange peel. Pours bright clear copper. Balanced caramel bready malt and bright hops on the tongue. Nothing too spectacular, but fairly well put together for an IPA.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Pours red to orange with a decent head, aroma of pine, pineapple, mango, marmalade and orange, flavor of litchi, pineapple and cheese, medium bodied

2013 bottle to a pint glass. Pours a honey amber color with a white foamy head. Aroma is sweet and floral with a little malt and caramel coming through. Taste is subdued for an IPA. The malt overpowers the hops, which is a little floral tasting and only slightly bitter. Mouthfeel is medium and a little slick. Tastes like a well hopped amber ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz can. Rating #688. Dark copper pour with a nice off-white head. Light citrus aroma, grapefruit mostly. Light sweetness with a bit of oxidation and a little more citrus. (2737)

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks zvikar. Clear amber. Aroma of floral and citric hops, slightly "green", and some malt, slightly honey-ish. Slightly sweetish flavor with malt, a bit of caramel and some hops, a bit "green", with moderate bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied.

At the LEAF Festival, an orange-copper pour into the glass, with a wispy head that reduces. Some doughy sours to the nose. The flavors have lots of citrus, sourdough, mixed fruits, dry caramel maltiness and finishes with a clean bitter cut that has a little sour yeast lingering. The mouthfeel is medium with an active carbonation palate. Decent, but a different take on the style for sure. Interesting rating, nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear copper with a solid one finger white head. Really good head retention and just a little bit of lacing. The aroma is a bit on the mild side but has definite garlic/onion notes along with some floral notes. A little earth and pine too but not much in the way of malt. A big pine/garlic bomb on the flavor which I happen to love. With that being said, however, it fades way too quick leaving nothing but lingering garlic. Really no malt at all and quite one dimensional. Mouthfeel is very watery given the strength while bitterness is moderate. Overall, a pretty run of the mill IPA that isn’t really worth seeking out. Glad I tried it, though.

Bottle pour clear yellow with orange hue. Nose of floral, pine, and hint of citrus hop. Taste the same, floral and evergreen. Some sweetness followed by a pleasing bitterness. Was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Surprised this is rated as low as it is. Decent IPA, some nice hops to it.

This in my opinion is the worst beer I have ever had. I am a daily IPA drinker and have had extreme amounts of different beers and this is first one I could not finish in several years Boys Beer Reviews on youtube rogerstrong or boogerracing
