COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Light is uniquely hand-crafted using 100% all natural ingredients: malted barley, the finest hops, German lager yeast and pristine Abita Springs water. The result is the smoothest, most flavorful light beer you will ever taste.

Draft... Some bar on Bourbon Street. Looks, smells and tastes a lot like any other light pale lager. Nothing stands out.

The final bottle of Confederate BIF from Biglove, Abita Light was poured from the stubby brown bottle into a Pilsner glass, in which it looked pale golden, clear, and fizzy. The aroma was very mild and mostly grains and malt with some lemony yeastiness. The flavor was much better than most light beers. Had a malty, honey-lemony-sour taste, and a slight hop bite. Definitely did not have that watered down, something’s missing taste that I was expecting. Refreshing.

I’m very surprised at the low rating for this beer. Granted, it is a light beer and that is a no-no, but for a light beer it’s pretty damn good. It has a unique flavor that I can’t really describe. I would definitely buy this again (in fact, I’d buy cases of this). It’s highly drinkable (again - for a light beer).

12 oz bottle from a "party pack" 12 pack. Most beers were dated "best before" 04/04: Straw yellow w/ a short lived white head. Diacetyl when it’s chilled, a bit tart aroma as well and a light grainy malt. Hints of green apple & a faint floral hop. Very papery as it warms. Well balanced, but very flat flavor. The malts, very lightly grainy, and although not cardboardy, are pretty much non existant. A little green apple and a semi dry finish. Higher carbonation, light body; crisp on the tongue. Way past it’s prime, it doesn’t seem as bad as other light beers. It’s not horrid, but I’d like to try a more fresh bottle as it had some good qualities at some point, but were lost with the age.

Bottle. Yellow with a fizzy white head. Nose is very corn laden and sweet with light malty notes. Taste is thin with more corn and moderate sweetness. This is sort of like sugary wtaer. Body is thin and watery with a fizzy feel (like selzter water). Finishes watery with corn syrup and wet malt. Bad stuff!

A rather unimpressive light beer. Tastes like straw. Maybe a bit sweet. Waste of time.

This is good for a light beer. It tastes weak, but this is of course to be expected of a light beer. It is crisp, clean, and refreshing though, so that scores it a plus. Pretty good.

Bottle: Straw clear yellow with a thin white head. Fizzy body and mouthfeel, lightly sweet during the whole taste. Weak tasting.

Am I the first to rate this one! Is it new? Anyway, had this on tap in New Orleans and found it to be a typical American light. Nothing to distinguish it from anything else. Small head and a little corn and hops aroma. Also, a decent grainy taste. Not bad.
