After mowing a lawn a man seeks a crsip beer. When the outdoor chores were finshed I spied an Abita Light in the beer fridge. A hay colored Abita Light has not much going on. Bland with no aroma or slight malt flavor. Abita placed the Light in multi-packs I purchased. Now the remaining Abita Lights will await my light beer friends for consumption.

I guess they have to offer a light beer. Really, really forgetable. As flat and limp as a roadkill cat on the interstate.

Abita Light
12 oz bottle
Recent bottling, gulped 08/30
Medium pour in a pilsner glass
Poured hay colored with a 1/8 inch white fully diminishing head, with a clear sparkling body.
Smelt of sweet corny malt, no hops.
Taste was corn malt that sweetens then finishes short and watery. Mouthfeel was carbonated and light.
Overall, a beer that may seem like a microbrew but has no true distinction from most commercial light beers.

Yikes, tastes like the gold lager plus lots and lots of that spring water. Yea, lots of spring water.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2007 A ridiculous waste of barley malt, hops, yeast, and the water that it so closely resembles. With a barely detectable sweet malt aroma, this watery drink has a diluted malt flavor with very little in the way of hops. I followed it up with a glass of water, just as refreshing and three dollars cheaper on the menu.

Very pale, almost clear. Not much of a head. Aroma is of stale beer. Not much body. Not much flavor.

Nice pale color, very light flavor, makes for an excellent light beer. Not as bitter as many light lagers.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, pale pilsener golden with a small, white head. Thin aroma of unmalted cereals. Light-bodied, sweetish and sticky with notes of cardboard. No bitterness. So not even Abita could manage to brew a drinkable Light-beer. 060406
