Clear amber with an off white head. Good aroma of roasted and blackened pecans here like a pecan pie. Light/medium body. Basic amber ale caramel malty sweet flavors with a hint of pecans. An easy drinking smooth sessionable brew here like most Abitas. 9287

Aug 7, 2008 Not a strong aroma to me. Looks nice. This is pretty good. Nutty and malty up front witha bit of bite in the finish. Just seems to be too light. The flavor would be better if it were more pronounced.

Jul 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white head that settled quickly to a ring. Sweet aroma of caramel backed with nuts. The flavor finds caramel, toffee, and some light pecans. Light body, sweet throughout and a tingly carbonation.

Jun 24, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear orangish amber body with a fizzy light beige head. Lots of carbonation. The nose is sweet and fruity with lots of honey and caramel malt. I can smell a bit of actual pecan, but I have to use my imagination a bit. There’s certainly a good bit of pecan flavor though. Lots of sweet caramel and brown sugar, it’s very reminiscent of gooey pecan pie. Rather short finish with just a touch of bitterness. The body is medium with a good bit of residual sugars. This would actually be a bit cloying were it not for the aggressive prickly carbonation that cuts through the sweetness well. Kind of a gimmick beer, but I think I like it.

Jun 18, 2008 Pours amber into the glass, with an initial off-white head that diminishes to a thin ring, leaving spotty lace. I had to dig to find the right notes in the nose... nuts (pecans?) overlay caramel/toffee notes, in an aerated way... not a huge bouquet, but more distinct as it warms. Doughy caramel malts predominate the flavor, with a sourdough finish... closing with a slight nut-bitter. The mouthfeel is thin, light and lively carbonated... not complex or heavy, but quaffable, and goes down well enough, especially in the summer.
