BCMike22 (79), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 1, 2008 Poured into a pint glass. Nice golden brown color. Semi-transparent light a light brown ale. Nice thick head which lingered a good bit. Aroma is VERY light. Can pick up the hint of something nutty, but far from overpowering. Very bland and malty palate. Light carbonation and lack of any real flavor makes it easy to go down, I’m just not in a rush to do so. You can taste the Pecans if you’re looking for them, but I expected them to be much more pronounced. OK, don’t go out of your way for this one.
kramer17801 (1828), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 24, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear orangish amber body with a fizzy light beige head. Lots of carbonation. The nose is sweet and fruity with lots of honey and caramel malt. I can smell a bit of actual pecan, but I have to use my imagination a bit. There’s certainly a good bit of pecan flavor though. Lots of sweet caramel and brown sugar, it’s very reminiscent of gooey pecan pie. Rather short finish with just a touch of bitterness. The body is medium with a good bit of residual sugars. This would actually be a bit cloying were it not for the aggressive prickly carbonation that cuts through the sweetness well. Kind of a gimmick beer, but I think I like it. bubbleflubber (623), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Jun 18, 2008 Pours amber into the glass, with an initial off-white head that diminishes to a thin ring, leaving spotty lace. I had to dig to find the right notes in the nose... nuts (pecans?) overlay caramel/toffee notes, in an aerated way... not a huge bouquet, but more distinct as it warms. Doughy caramel malts predominate the flavor, with a sourdough finish... closing with a slight nut-bitter. The mouthfeel is thin, light and lively carbonated... not complex or heavy, but quaffable, and goes down well enough, especially in the summer. Acknud (533), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Jun 5, 2008 What can I say...an amber ale. Nothing excited. Nutty flavor with some hops. OK to drink but don’t get excited. jzzbassman (640), New Albany, Mississippi, USA May 18, 2008 The aroma, although slight, is where the pecans lie in this. Other than that, the flavor is of a mediocre amber ale. Rciesla (670), Brick City, New Jersey, USA May 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with white head. Aroma is pecans, malt, and some nuts. Flavor is that but severly diminished.
