COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It may sound nuts, but most ales with nutty flavors or aromas are made without any real nuts. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale is made with real Louisiana pecans. The natural oils from the nuts give the ale a light pecan finish and aroma. It’s wonderful paired up with both red meats and seafood - and no suprise it’s great with nuts too. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale, crack one open for yourself today.

12 ounce bottle, poured an amber color, aromas of bread, feint nuts, and some sweet malt. Flavor is the same, not much pecan flavor, was expecting a little more.

Poured into my pint glass a dark amber/orange with a big bubbly off-white head on top. Pretty good retention, and it leaves some nice sticky webbing as it’s sipped. Smells pretty bland and tame. Nothing really coming out of this. Some mild hops and some fresh breads. The mouth is silky smooth and creamy. It could stand a bit more of a carbonation kick, but it’s decent. This is a very buttery beer. Tastes of buttered bread, and some mild pecan flavor. I was expecting this to be a bit more nutty. Finishes bready and a little drying. This wasn’t really what I expected, but it was decent nonetheless.

Semi-cloudy golden brown color, nice carbonation, nice small creamy tannish head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing. The nose is malty, slightly tangy, very slight nutty/pecan tone, and some caramel. The taste is malty, slight tangy/bitter, and caramel. Not impressed.

Amber with thinner white head. Nose is a nut based coffee aroma. There is flavor here but it’s bland. On tap a Shep

Pours an attractive coppery red.. a simplistic aroma of apple, nuts, cinnamon.. metallic bite, little flavor, some nuttiness and vague spice coming through, watery, surprised by the utter dearth of flavor. Bad.

12 oz bottle. Pours light amber red with a small white froth. Aroma sweet syrupy maltiness, caramel and toffee, some metallic notes and just very sugary candy. Flavor starts sweet with some caramel and toffee before picking up maybe some nuttiness though its faint. A slight metal and bready finish. Light to medium body and a sharp carbonation. Another bad one from Abita

12 oz. bottle to dimpled mug. Pours amber with medium white head. Bready malts and some dark fruits. Overall not as much of the pecan flavor as the competitor across the river, but has its own qualities, especially the very balanced sweet to bitter that I enjoyed. Worth a try.

Bottle. Pours a medium amber/gold with a disappearing white head. Smells of some light nuttiness and bread, metal. Flavor is that of the same with a thin body...not much going on here at all. Drinkable, but overall pretty bland. I haven’t had much that has impressed me from Abita so far.

Bottle:   Vibrant amber, clear, thin to moderate sudsy off-white head, spotty lacing, light carbonation.   Nutty nose, slight cereal mealy malts.   Rather mealy on the tongue, malty, with a definite nuttiness.   Seems a bit dry, could be a touch sweeter.   Mealiness gets in the way.   Minor cardboard on the backside.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Overall just uninteresting.   The Pecans need to be sweetened a bit more.   Falls flat towards the end.   Uneventful, as expected.
