Pours a clear orangish amber body with a fizzy light beige head. Lots of carbonation. The nose is sweet and fruity with lots of honey and caramel malt. I can smell a bit of actual pecan, but I have to use my imagination a bit. There’s certainly a good bit of pecan flavor though. Lots of sweet caramel and brown sugar, it’s very reminiscent of gooey pecan pie. Rather short finish with just a touch of bitterness. The body is medium with a good bit of residual sugars. This would actually be a bit cloying were it not for the aggressive prickly carbonation that cuts through the sweetness well. Kind of a gimmick beer, but I think I like it. bubbleflubber (647), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Jun 18, 2008 Pours amber into the glass, with an initial off-white head that diminishes to a thin ring, leaving spotty lace. I had to dig to find the right notes in the nose... nuts (pecans?) overlay caramel/toffee notes, in an aerated way... not a huge bouquet, but more distinct as it warms. Doughy caramel malts predominate the flavor, with a sourdough finish... closing with a slight nut-bitter. The mouthfeel is thin, light and lively carbonated... not complex or heavy, but quaffable, and goes down well enough, especially in the summer.
