2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz bottle (2009) into a pint glass. The pour is brown with a small off-white head. The taste and aroma are a weird combination of chocolate and nuttiness that is decently off-putting.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle. Simple, juicy, nutty aroma features a red grape scent. Pours a clear copper/amber with light effervescence and a small amount of beige head. Nice, bright look. Nutty, dry, fruit-juicy flavor that matches the aroma. While there is a nutty quality, it is subtle, and I wouldnít have known there were any nuts in this beer, let alone that they were pecans specifically, had I not been informed so by the name. Amber ale-like taste. Long, dry, nutty aftertaste. Easy to drink. Light to medium body. Insubstantial in the palate aside from the solid aftertaste but not bad. Overall, this is a simple and unmemorable beer but certainly not an actively offensive one.

I have drank this many times....and for whatever reason now that I am rating it, I find it just doesnít hold up. Feels a bit too carbonated. Aroma...beer, I donít get much of anything from it.. Do not like it cold. Room temperature. Has a bit of a pecan up front, then more of a brown ale. It still is a very easy drinking beer. I just recall liking it a lot more. Maybe trying hundreds of other beers made me realize this was not as special as the first time I had it.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The flavor starts with a malty bitterness. This gives way to a kind of strange grain funkiness with an earthy note to it. I think maybe I get some pecan in there, but itís more like a piece of shell you accidentally ate than a pecan nut. The finish is bitter in a very mildly hoppy way. Itís OK, but just not as good as I expected it to be from the name.

No pecan, but a nice toasty flavor. This is a good seasonal, but lacks the identifiable notes needed to fulfill its marketing.

Pours coppery orange. Aromas of citrus, tangerine especially. Tastes a tad bit nutty, but not too much so. Hops arenít that noticeable in this sweet ale. An ok beer, at best. Abitaís fall season all just arenít that great.

Interesting beer design - had to give it a try at Bourbon Street Grill in Hellís Kitchen section of Manhattan. On the malty side, the Pecan is obvious, but didnít find it overbearing. Makes for a sweet beer overall, with a dry roasted pecan finish.

12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Shadyside. Slightly sweet with only a mild taste of pecans. If you donít want an over the top nut beer this is for you.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle poured hazy amber with thin pff white head, dissipated quickly with little lacing. Nose is nutty malt and taste is similar. Mild carbonation with fizzy mouthfeel. Sweet finish.

Doesnít really compare pecan beers like Lazy Magnoliaís, but this has a mild appeal as well. Light brownish colored, thin head, slightly sweet.

From a bottle poured into a pint glass. Aroma slightly nutty, most of the head vanished in a minute. Light caramel color with a slightly nutty, medium sweetness to the taste. The carbonation was a little fizzy. Overall itís drinkable, solid but not spectacular.
