COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It may sound nuts, but most ales with nutty flavors or aromas are made without any real nuts. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale is made with real Louisiana pecans. The natural oils from the nuts give the ale a light pecan finish and aroma. It’s wonderful paired up with both red meats and seafood - and no suprise it’s great with nuts too. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale, crack one open for yourself today.

12oz bottle (2009) into a pint glass. The pour is brown with a small off-white head. The taste and aroma are a weird combination of chocolate and nuttiness that is decently off-putting.

Bottle from App Vintner - Pours amber with a ton of cream head. Aroma is yeasty with a side nuts. Taste is faintly bitter. palate has some minerality, but other than that, meh.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2013 12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 1/22/2013. Pours fairly hazy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, biscuit, toffee, toast, brown sugar, nuttiness, floral, and light fruitiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt notes. Taste of caramel, biscuit, toast, toffee, brown sugar, nuttiness, floral, and light fruitiness. Lingering notes of caramel, biscuit, toast, toffee, nuttiness, and floral on the finish for a bit. Nice and well balanced malt and nutty flavors; a little mild on flavor, but very pleasant; with no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy and very smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good amber ale. Nice balance of flavors and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle. I did not get any pecan out of this. It is a pretty bog standard ale with a nice gimmick.

A very easy drinkable nutty ale. The pour and appearance is smooth. Certainly drink again with a slight subtle nutty taste in the end.

Pours cloudy, wood-amber with a tall tan head. Aroma is pecan, malt... Flavour is very nutty...bold pecan, almost peanut butter tasting...creamy. I really didn’t expect to like this...but I did. Nicely different and tasty.

bottle. Amber with small head. Thin body with a hint of pecan and some sweet malt. Pleasant, but a little light in flavor.

Other than the subtle pecan pie notes, not much here. A little nice fruit in the nose. Pretty plain.

Aroma is grainy malts and pecans. The flavor is pecans, grainy/sweetish malts and a mildly tangy finish.

Backlog. Maybe a chocolate pecan ale would be better. Not quite enough sweetness to balance off the astringency and flavor of the pecan ( skins)

Bottled. Poured light amber with a nice cap of whitish head. The aroma picked up brown sugar and sweet pecans with a bit of buttery character.. aiight. The flavor found a muddled blend of sweet malts (pecan, chocolate, vanilla, and brown sugar) with similarly-inspired tartness surrounding.. finished a tad sharp over a blend of sweet malts. Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. this went down easily, but was just OK.
