COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

Shared with Holy. Cloudy yellow. A bit of fruit but no flavor. Probably good for people who don?t like beer.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2012 On tap, shared with quiznoaz. So you get a Bud Light, maybe Miller Light (depending on your preference) and then poured some kid’s fruit juice into the fermenter. And the beer turns out yellow, but the label is purple. Yep, that makes sense. And so does this beer.

Bottle. Pours effervescent, slightly hazy, and orange, with a fizzy white head. Aromas of of raspberry and cherry, wheat, and sugar. Light raspberry and berry flavor. Alright. [955]

Hey, I really like Abita Purple Haze. Ed V. introduced me to it in 2002 or 2004 - can’t remember. I’m always about havin’ some fizzy fruitiness on a Wednesday afternoon.

pours a cloud orange with a light head. The taste is much more pleasing then the aroma!! It tastes very much of raspberry and has the wheat beer after taste!!

White fluffy two fingers head. Clear yellow with a bit of a darker tint. Smell is a bit off-putting, it’s got a lager smell but a bit wacky. Don’t know how to describe it. Taste is like a spoiled lager. Slightly tart, watery. It’s just a disappointment. Yuck.

I had one of these quite a while back, so I am trying to catch up on my beer exploits. It’s quite a fruity beer, light on any malty or hoppy characteristics. It’s more akin to a fruit beer than that of a wheat beer. A nice refreshing beer.

Very fruity (berries) aroma and taste. Can be almost soap-like, but typically is almost like a lightly carbonated fruit drink. Still really enjoyable to drink under the right conditions.
