A hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, chemical powdered fruit extracts, light acidic points. In mouth, a light fruity wheat with light lactic points, summer quaffer, boring. Bottled at ROC Empire Brewfest, Feb. 19 2011.

It pours a hazy yellow color with a bunch of purple hue’s, also it has a 2 finger head that lingers around. Some small spots of lacing and a ton of carb. On the aroma side of things I am getting some wheat, as well some light raspberry. The flavor is giving me some wheat, little acidic notes. It has sort of a sweetness from the raspberries but nothing that is over powering. You can tell they actually used real berries. It finishes pretty tart and virtually no hops to speak of. As far as fruit beer goes not a bad one.

I’m transferring ratings from another beer app to this one. My tasting notes wouldn’t be accurate at this point since they weren’t captured at the time.

The raspberry taste is weak but definitely there. Has a very discrete bitterness. To its advantage it doesn’t taste artificially sweet as one might have expected from this type of beer but then it also has too little taste altogether

Bottle. When I saw the bottle saying "Raspberry Wheat Brew"...I should have known what I was in for. For whatever reason, I figured - nah, it’ll probably taste somewhat decent. It’s Abita after all, and lord knows there’s more Turbodog in my blood than oxygen...well that was a stupid assumption. This is borderline undrinkable for me, which considering the last thing I’d ever do is "waste" alcohol by not finishing it - that’s saying something. Definitely has a raspberry flavor to it...you ever see the Arrested Development episode where they made "hot ham water"? That’s what this is in essence...cold raspberry water. Watery, lacking a full body mouthfeel, and kind of off tasting. If the raspberry tasted fresh or nice, that’d be one thing. But it tastes funky, like some sort of raspberry flavoring. Whatever, won’t hold it against Abita as I love them and they have the best tour around if you’re in LA...but won’t be grabbing another one of these for a looooong time. 4.7% alcohol.

Bottle. Very strong raspberry aroma, had trouble picking out other scents. Pours a hazy golden/orange color. Crisp, sweet, and tart. Wasn’t a fan of the flavor. Long finish, can still taste the raspberries, a little bitterness in the finish. Overall didn’t like this. I’d like to say I won’t buy it again but my wife loves it so I’m sure it’ll find my frig now and then. But I won’t be drinking it.
