Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

This is a cloudy brew with a purple tint to it. Has a raspberry flavor to it and is really nothing special. Over all not a very good brew.

taste like raspberries, not very good. pours out not like anything i would have expected given the fact that its a fruit beer. it looks similar to a hefe. alright, but not what i was anticipating (if anything). sampled at brewgrass 04 on draught.

Yuck. I had to try it being a turbo dog fan, but pretty unimpressive attempt by Abita here. A little too fruity for me. Aftertaste led me to get through this one in as few drinks as possible.

A nice little wheat beer, with the raspberries and all....but...really wheres the raspberries? I love raspberries and I just didnít really find them in this beer...I donít want an overwhelming artifical raspberry taste, but at least something palpable

Enjoyable wheat beer with a smooth, pleasant taste. The fruit taste isnít overdone, and the beer is very pretty when poured.

Man, this stuff is pretty freakiní awful. It smells and tastes like grape soda or something similary to it. Definitely doesnít taste like a good beer. Stay the heck away from this stuff.

Well , being originally from New Orleans I tend to want to defend this beer, b/c iíve been to their brewery and know people that have worked there, but alas, I agree with the folks in this list... It is a bit of a let down b/c: Yes, it is a little flat. Yes, the berry flavor is too subtle (would rather be drinking a fruit soda pop), Yes, the label is better than the taste. Yes, the finsih has alot to be desired. In conclusion: Get Turbo Dog, for one last try for a decent Abita Brewery Beer. Maybe if everyone sends them our comments, theyíll work on the recipe and improve it... LOL

Nothing great about this beer. in fact it is kind of bad. Iíd rather have a raspberry pop or a regular bee but not this. My sisterís bottle had a cap that wasnít put on fully

Not as horrible as the recent entries suggest, but not a great beer by any means. Raspberries are not really evident and the color was a little lighter than I was expecting. A little astringent. Cool label and name, but Jimmy deserves better. Scuse me while I kiss the sky...
