Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

An alright beer. Not bad for the price. Never really had many wheatís Iíd flipped over, but this one isntí bad at all. Unfiltered yellow color and body, and a slightly sweet fruity taste. not my thing, but it beats the hell out of but

Donít like sweet...donít like wheat...but not aweful...pours yellow with a hint of purple with a decent head...smells very malty with a sweet touch of raspberry...tastes much the same...smells and looks more appealing than it actually is...

I love this beer and I am once again shocked by he overall crtical opinion. A lot of people seem to like heavy beer and bitter beer. Myself I like something refreshing and tasty. While I like astout or a porter as much as anyone I love fruit and Wheat beers. This one the best fruit beers out there, great bottle too. It smells, looks, and tastes great. Not too sweet but enough to really add a great flavor. This is excelent beer and I can tell the fruit used is real (unlike liney) and not fruit flavor.

Pours a two-fingered white head leaving little lace, reddish/amber color. Medium carbonation, light bodied. Slight raspberry nose. Starts with raspberry overtones with the wheat right behind it, very easy to drink. $1.49 for a 12 oz bottle from Liquor Barn, London, KY.

Not a horrible beer, but not a Lambic by far. A drinkable summer beer with not a lot to say for itself.

Cherry color with no head. Raspberry aroma and flavor. Also, a bit sour in the flavor. Flat on the palate.

No. Too sweet... and artificially sweet. Not a good raspbeery taste at all. Didnít have much of a body and just a generally unimpressive beer. Now excuse me while I kiss the sky.

Medium brown, thin head - slight aroma of berries. Sourish and light bodied, with an unpleasant bitterness. Disappointing.

Slightly cloudy light brown in color with a slightly retained egg white head. Aroms is pretty macro swillish. Hay and not much in the way of raspberries. Flavor is an improvement upon the aroma. Mild, sweet raspberry flavor with some wheat. The finish, however is rather like cardboard.

Sampled at Empire Brewfest. This has a pretty straight forward big raspberry aroma that is annoying. Probably the weirdest colored beer Iíve seen. This thing is like a hazy pink/peach color with a small white head. Fake raspberry flavors throughout with a touch of mild maltiness shining through. Quite cloying.
