Commercial Description:
Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

Cloudy golden color, with only hints of raspberry smell. Taste was not great, quite weak. Wish it was a bit heavier and more tasteful. Only positive, it can be drank in mass quantities much like water.

This beer just didn’t have enough kick too it. didn’t detect any hops. I think it would be better if it was a little more bitter. It tasted kind of flat in my mouth, with an odd raspberry taste at the end. I wouldn’t buy this again. Hey at least i get too add a cool bottle to my collection!

12oz bottle. Pours a white head with a golden amber body. Smells of raspberry and bread. Decent wheat body and character with the crispness of the raspberry.

Had a very distinct raspberry taste. I’m a big fan of fruit beers, but I just don’t think that raspberry and beer go together well at all, and as such thought this tasted pretty bad.

This is one of the only fruit beers I’ve tasted that actually has a slightly, tart component. Taste is ok, but not great.

Decent fruity aroma betrays the lack of anything else good about this beer. High carbonation churns this unfiltered brew... with a name like "Purple Haze" I expected to see something more striking. Very little flavor of any kind; slight watery fruit flavor with very thin mouthfeel. Quite disappointing. I got this in a holiday pack from my bottle shop and I expect they bundled this in just to get rid of it.

This poured a hazy golden color with a pinkish colored white head. Aroma was mainly artifical grape. Flavor was a bit better, mainly artificial grape flavor but also some wheaty and spice notes as well.

On draft at the brewpub. Wheat and berries are predominant. High carbonation. Different, but really not that good.
