Pours hazy gold with a decent off-white head and a nondescript aroma. There is a weak caramel malt base with subtle raspberry flavor and light hop bitterness.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2012 Update: now that I’ve had quite a few more beers, this beer is solid but too syrupy for me. Updating rating. I’ve always been a fan of this beer and always will be. Yes it is a fruit beer, no it’s not super fancy crafty - but it’s a nice flavored wheat beer, and a good sessionable beer for me.

Cloudy gold. Nose and palate dominated by raspberry. Cider-like, cloying and fizzy with a short finish.

I admit to being a little bit of a Abita fanboy; I got hooked on their stuff some time ago when the place I worked at had Turbodog on tap. So I suppose it’s no surprise I like this beer; the raspberry is great, laid in with a light hand so that you just get a faint overtone of the fruit that harmonizes reasonably well with the wheat flavors underneath. No Jolly Rancher here; this is a mature, tasty beer. If it has a weak point, it’s that I would have liked it to be a little more complex and challenging; as it was, it’s one of those beers that are gone before you know it.

Smells of raspberry... little beer flavor. Moderate carbonation, aftertaste of raspberry-- the real plant, not a candy version. Good, just not very beer-like.

Pours a hazy honey gold with a small, mostly dissapating, white pinkish head. Nose is vaguely of fruit. Nice and creamy on the palate, taste is light, airy, raspberry. No hops apparent. Nice as a thirst quencher on a summer’s day with light snacks or picnic fare.

Slight aroma of raspberries is not too strong. Taste has some sweet raspberries, but mostly bitter and skunky. Finish was not so great.
