COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

An endearing beer. Decent balance between beer and fruit taste. Good to get people away from the Bud Light and Miller Lite they would normally reach for but by no means a great beer. Generally not worth the premium paid for it though.

Meh, whatever. The lady-friend likes it so who am I to say anything aloud? Mineral water beer.

Tap at the Brevard County Beer Fest--Hazy to cloudy yellow with a decent head. I didn’t notice much of a raspberries in the aroma or the taste, probably just as well. Not horrible, just not something I would buy in a six pack.

On tap at Pour 24. Not bad wheat beer that tastes of raspberries. Fruit taste is just a hint.

Pours a cloudy yellow with an aroma of raspberry, wheat, and hops. Mild hoppy raspberry flavor with a grassy/earthy taste. Pretty balance fruit beer that isn’t overly offensive. Not too bad but also not one of my top Abita beers - I’ll take the Restoration Ale any day.

Bottle at Norfolk (US) beer festival. Dark maroon, scant tan head. Mild fruit aroma, fairly plain flavor, decent malt and sweetish raspberry, inadequately balanced. OK, but not great.

From tap at Yard House in San Diego. Pours hazy deep orange with a small white head. Aroma is crisp orange and tangerine fruity. Mild citric base flavour, rather dry yet refreshing with a bitterness making the finish even more dry and crisp.

Pours cloudy amber with a decent sized white head. Nose is faint wheat. Taste is simple with wheat and raspberries. Mouthfeel is light. Decent, but nothing amazing happening here.
