troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Sep 13, 2006 (Bottle) Pours hazy with a decent head. Fruity aroma. Taste was a little more bland. A decent beer, but not too exciting. PHXHOPLOVER (50), LAVEEN, Arizona, USA Sep 13, 2006 Halfway decent wheat brew with a little bit of raspberries added which impart a little sourness to the beer. They couldnt use much, as there is little evidence of color from the berries. (i’ve brewed raspberry wheat beers, and it dosent take much to give a red tinge to the beer, and a purple tinge to the head.)
They should use more to back up the name. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 12, 2006 12oz bottle Pours out a hazy amber with very little head. Alot of carbonization almost like a soda. Not that very much ras in this berry beer. AskForJenny (627), Ontario, New York, USA Aug 28, 2006 On the whole really impressive. I have had more problems with spoiled in the bottle with this beer than any other. Pours fizzy, no real head, but a lovely pink/gold color. When it’s good it’s great. cbrixius (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 24, 2006 This is probably the most disappointing micro I have ever had. Way too much artificial fruit on the nose. No head to speak of. Poor malts, no hops, too much carbonization, tart aftertaste. cewldre (268), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 20, 2006 Taste was of watery raspberry, not over the top, but not to strong either. The bottle I had just tasted watery all together. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2006 Fruity nose, white wine and a bit of balsamic vinegar. Black currant, too. Mild sweetness. Hazy amber with some redness. Thin fizzy head that dissipated quickly. Medium watery body with medium-fizzy carbonation. Starts fizzy with mild malt sweetness and fruity berry flavor. Carbonic acidity and dry bitterness. Has a weak malty or wheaty presence, but is fairly refreshing. Light bitter finish and dry astringent after. Just a bit of hops in the after, with tart fruit skins. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Aug 9, 2006 Updated: Mar 15, 2008Bottle. Was recommended as a refreshing followup to a bottle of Arrogant Bastard…not really. Weak. Raspberry isn’t syrupy, but tastes somewhat artificial – separate from the rest. [2.5]
Re-rate from a bottle, with a clean palate. Finally getting a shot at this with a clean palate. Fizzy artificial raspberry cloy for an aroma, but not grainy. Orange-amber pour, clear, with a very fizzy and shortly-evapped off-white head – nothing remains. Aroma is pretty pungent, though. Thin body, crisp with a little grainy malt and much-subdued raspberry. Overtones of wheat. Really, where did all the promised fruitiness go? For shame. [2.1]
