IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA Mar 13, 2006 On tap. Hazy golden color, white head, kind of fizzy. Aroma of light wheat and light raspberry. It really is lacking, kind of seltzerish. No finish. Real light raspberry in the flavor, a little soapy. Light bodied and fizzy. Meh. DJMonarch (6036), Northwich, Cheshire, England Mar 13, 2006 Barrel Draught from the jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 01/10/2005
Light yellow coloured with some hazy appearance. Fruity raspberry aroma and flavour. Dry finish. ghawener (952), San Salvador, El Salvador Mar 12, 2006 Thanks to richbrew. Bottle: Characteristically cloudy wheat body, orange colour, head is flaky and light. Heavily frizzy, light, thin body wheat and raspberry are notable but not overpowering. trafford (171), Germantown, Tennessee, USA Mar 7, 2006 This is much better on tap than from the bottle. The Raspberries are all you taste when poured from the botlle, while on draft it has a after taste of raspberries. Not one of my favorites, but could be good on a hot southern day. drainey (231), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 6, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Cloudy yellow body with a small white head. Both the aroma and flavor fairly basic with raspberries and yeast. Very light palate. Drinkable, but nothing special. jdouglas3 (31), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 6, 2006 Cloudy brown with a small white head. Tastes of honey, lemon, raspberries. gallaghermurph (29), Washington DC, USA Mar 2, 2006 Pours pink with a hint of orange. Aroma is bread and berries. Head is a moderate white bubbly foam that quickly dissipates into a small white ring. Minimal lacing. Taste is an underwhelming wheat beer with watered down raspberries. Where other flavors would usually present, all you get is water. All in all, it tastes like an under-steeped tea. Bummer. Finishes with a medium bitterness. Palate is watery with medium carbonation. A swing and a miss for Abita. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA Mar 1, 2006 Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Pink-tinted straw color, somewhat thin looking. Nose of light wheat malt and tart red raspberries. Flavor is mildy tart raspberry over light, slightly sweet malt, finishing very crisp. A bit thin and watery overall, but refreshing and enjoyable-- very nice that the raspberry is tart and subtle rather than candy-sweet. Had not had this in many a year and it was quite nice as an aperitif.
