COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

Amber with a hint of purple color. Decent white head. Aroma smells saccharine sweet and artificial. Taste is tart but the ’raspberry’ taste seems fake and too strong. Somewhat thin. An OK beer.

Bottle. In general, I like a good fruit beer. Unfortunately, this is not one. It has a hint of raspberry flavor but is quickly overpowered by a bad flavor I’m not sure how to describe. I want to say dishwater, but I guess it was kind of like a watered down hefeweizen flavor

Pink tinged golden pour with a faintly pink white head. Slightly grainy berry aroma. Tastes similar, a sort of bland, berry-flavored sweetened breakfast cereal on a light body. More mediocre than terrible. There’s no glaring off-flavors, but there’s also not a lot of reason to have this again.

While this beer isn’t great. I think it is underrated. The color is very nice. It has a slight pilsner element to it that I don’t car for. The fruit doesn’t seem fake. Little head. I have tasted far worse fruit beers.

A very small white head sits on top of what looks like grapefruit juice, a pinkish yellow color. The aroma is very thin, but has raspberry notes and smells slightly sour. The flavor is likewise very thin, with the raspberry coming through the sour notes. Interesting looking but not enjoyable at all.

Foggy amber color/ ivory head. Tart lemon, wheat, dark berry fruit aromas. medium body. Nice sweet berry fruit, honey flavors with some tart lemon, wheat--good hot weather brew--and it is hot right now

Draft at the brass tap, pours a hazy, imagine that a hazy orange purplish color, with a slight aroma of raspberries. Flavors of a wheat beer, and sweet raspberries, Not the best wheat/fruit beer int he world, but a good one to drink in the heat in Florida.

12 oz bottle from World Market poured into a 16 oz. shaker.

Aroma: Rancid raspberries hide the natural wheat aroma.

Appearance: an unearthly brownish-pink color. Lots of head that disappears quickly.

Taste: Easily the worst part of this beer. Just sweet and fakey tasting.

Palate: The only thing that is the least bit positive - the massive carbonation hides some of the awful.

Overall: Ugh. This is not a beer I will have again.
