COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

First thing that hits you is a strong rasberry aroma. The taste is almost overwelming. The rasberry tast is so abundant that its almost like drinking a b*tch beer.

12 oz- Pours a cloudy reddish yellow with a small white bubbly head. Scents of raspberries but hard to detect in flavor. Disappointing

Got this to finish out a "pick your own 6-pack", but its not even worth that. The only way I can describe it is salty carbonated water mixed with a hefeweizen. I think theres a slight fruit flavor of some sort but its so hidden I can’t really make it out. I suppose if I liked wheat beers I might rate it slightly higher, bit I don’t so I won’t.

Let’s just say this isn’t my favorite beer in any sense of the word, and we can move on.

Murky reddish yellow pour with a thin white head. Aroma was slight with wheat and fruit. Tasted very mild with small hints of rasberry and grass.

The smell was the best part of this beer. A distinct aroma of rasberries. The taste, however, was weak. Simial to a weak soda (a term I hardly ever use.)

Yes, I’ll add to the heated debate, it has a purple hue. No head and no bubbles. Hard to pick up any aroma - some wheat and tiny hint of rasberry. Light and salty flavor. It lacks two of the three components of beer - malt and hops. The third ingredient, water dominates the flavor, and SOUR at that. Ever swallow water at the beach? Then you know what Purple Haze tastes like. Watery palate. The purple novelty and witty name do not carry this beer very far, leaving a substandard ale.

Hazy amber body with off-white head. Artificial metallic raspberry flavor. Blah.. glad I didn’t buy a whole 6-pack of this.
