2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2012 Have had this on draft sporadically. Almost wish I hated it more. Truth be told it is a slightly above average raspberry wheat beer. It has little flavor above the raspberry to be of consequence, but still maintains solid fruity wheat beer components to be a step above. Recommend only in lieu of a decent beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The beer pours a hazy burnt orange color with a small white head that fades soon after the pour, and the aroma blends lager yeast, raspberries (so much so that it smells almost artificial), and a somewhat spicy malt. The taste is more sour than sweet; in fact, it is barely sweet with the tartness of the raspberry being the predominant flavor. The mouthfeel fuses a slick and thin texture, light body, soft carbonation, and a lasting finish.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a orange color with a thin white head. Aromas are simply malts and rasberry. Far too sweet to be really enjoyable.

Pours hazy golden with a fizzy head. Tons of wheat twang and light caramel for the aroma. Raspberry and wheat twang for the flavor. Easy drinking and a good finish. Maybe one or two at most....decent

Abita really set themselves apart with this one. Not your average wheat brew with the incorporation of the rasberrys. You can taste the fruit, but not to the degree that it makes the beer to sweet, and they are not overbearing. Purple Haze really does it for me.

Can at Stouts NYC - for the state tick (in writing), 23/11/13.
Hazed dark amber with light reddish hues and a thin off white pond/edgework.
Nose is raspeberry forward, sugars, caramel, malty, straw.
Taste comprises sweet raspeberry syrup, lightly toasted malts, wheat, sugars.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish.
Refreshing for what it is I guess - BBQ summer beer perhaps but one would be enough - sweet sweet sweet !

Dry and astringent. Light fruit and grainy flavor does nothing to pull this one up. Looks good though.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours orangish with white head. Taste rasberry, earthy. I thought it was not very good. I would pass on this down the road.

On tap at Yard House Houston. Itís an unclear golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma is quite boring, with a certain fruity, berry-ish domination. Some malty hints. The flavor pretty much the same, fruits and berries dominates, leaving little room for the malts and hops. Medium buddy, a bit heavy on the carbonation. Fruity finish. Definitely not my kind of fruit beer, even though itís not foul on any way. 131114
