Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

pours orange cloudy body. Small white head taste is lacking, says raspberry flavor but flavor and scent are both weak. Tastes of sweeteners and artificial flavoring.

It pours a strange purple color with a white head. The aroma was fruity. The taste is fruit and grain. It was pretty refreshing. It’s a good summer beer.

On tap at Disney... Smelled strongly (a good strong) of raspberries... Color was close to an amber. Starts off very tart and ends yeasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Its fun to look at. You’ll spend more time tipping your glass catching seconds of its purple appearance than tasting it. The raspberry adds a little to the palate but its more of just a psychedelic effect. Or maybe its to disguise the bad water out of Louisiana, cause something is just missing here.

Aroma is of sweet raspberries and alcohol and funk. Taste is not bad. A refreshing raspberry kick, a decent malt finish. A bit too much alcohol apparent and something a little funky. Worth a shot, girlfriend loved it.

12 oz. bottle at Taco Mac - Perimeter in ATL. Pours a hazy golden amber with minimal crown. Aroma is light with a hint of raspberry and a heavy aroma of malt, wheat, and some yeast. Flavour screams raspberries but is soon overpowered by a strong wheat taste that lingers far longer than the fruit. Finish is smooth but rife with wheat. Palate is thin and moderately carbonated. Overall, nothing that I’d order again unless my palate evolved to enjoying wheat beers. The raspberry essence was very interesting and I liked it, but the wheat ruined it all.

Oye vay!! I wanted to give this beer the benefit of the doubt (I don’t generally go for these flavored concotions) but let me tell ya. Steer clear my comrades. This is really a bad effort. Weak body and a very unoriginal raspberry...I dunno, thing going on with it that is rather revolting. There is a purple sort of haze to it but it’s not that cute after you’ve had a couple of sips and are pissed with yourself at having forked over a buck ninety nine for this crap. Don’t even try it to rate it. Trust me.

poured from a bottle into a beer glass, white 1 finger fast diminishing head, pale cloudy light orange color, slightly sweet aroma, raspberry on the first sip and a touch of citrus but little else, finish was citrus, watery and quick, refreshing on a hot summers afternoon but not much else.

I did not enjoy this aroma but I did think that the taste was alright, perhaps too sweet for me.
