COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

Pours a light and murky amber color with a medium off-white head. Decent lacing. Aroma is raspberries of course, but really nothing else. It might have something to do with the fact that I was building a deck in almost 90 degree temperatures, but I found this to be pretty easy to drink. Light bodied and very crisp, and fortunately the raspberry flavor is not as overwhelming as it is in other beers of this type. Clean finish. Nothing award-winning in my book but a passable summer beer.

This is a fairly good raspberry beer. Body is nice wtih good balance. Raspberry flavor is evident, but not too crazy. Not bad.

Sweet flavor, raspberry jam and toast. Kind of medicinal, not a huge fan of this.

Very light, hazy, straw-colored brew. Quickly dissipating, fizzy white head. The nose is of yeast, raspberries, banana and apricot. Lightly floral and interesting. Lightly malty flavor. Tangy with plenty of fresh raspberries and traces of fuzzy fruit. Well-balanced and fairly thin with a touch of honey. Light-bodied with a fizzy, dry mouthfeel. Very refreshing late Summer beer.

Bottle @ home. Hazy, orangish peach appearance with a cream colored head. Fairly rich raspberry syrup, well carbonated, light grainy skunk aroma. High, prickly carbonation. Fairly potent, yet dull raspberry flavor with notes of toasted grain, grass, and hay. Bleh.

Bottle. Sweet raspberry malt aroma - a bit like the sweeter lambic framboise beers. Moderately cloudy - pinkish amber color with small head. Slightly sour, light raspberry malt flavor - really expected it to be sweeter from the aroma. Very little body. Pretty weak and bland.

12 oz bottle. BB 01/11... From a gas station in New Orleans, LA.
Hazy orange amber colour with a small white head. Pilsner malt and mild grassy bitterness in the aroma. Mild sweetness, raspberries... or some other berries and malt in a pilsnery flavour. Not very good or tasty.

Bottle. Poured hazy gold with a white head. Aroma consisted of fruits and a touch of malts. Flavor had the presence of raspberries and while easy drinking, it is not complex in anyway.
