COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

Very fruity (berries) aroma and taste. Can be almost soap-like, but typically is almost like a lightly carbonated fruit drink. Still really enjoyable to drink under the right conditions.

I had one of these quite a while back, so I am trying to catch up on my beer exploits. It’s quite a fruity beer, light on any malty or hoppy characteristics. It’s more akin to a fruit beer than that of a wheat beer. A nice refreshing beer.

Striking flowery aroma. Wonderfully refreshing summer beer. Won’t win any awards as it is made for the average American beer-idiot, but easy to drink and women especially like it! (Hint guys... that’s a hint!) -->I have tried both draught and bottle. Maybe the bottle was old, but the draught was MUCH better.

I found that I liked this beer much better than I thought that I would. My girlfriend originally bought it because she thought she would like it. It poured a lightish amber color and I noticed a fair amount of bubbles rising to the top. It poured a barely noticeable head that was gone within a few seconds. For a lighter beer the taste was great, and as vacek says below me, it does have a bit of a bite but goes down smooth. I think I could definately buy some more of this in the future.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2003 An excellent wheat beer with a hint of raspberries. Just based on beliefs, a beer that is flavored with fruit is not as good as a great regular beer, but this comes awfully close. I enjoy this every time I have it.

On tap at Newport Pizza. Pours a hazy goldish hue with a refreshing raspberry nose. Very smooth and easy to drink. Pretty simple beer but very enjoyable!

One opf my favorite fruit beers. A little too much carbonation taste, but a nice raspberry flavor. Nice on a hot day.
