Pleasant aroma, satisfyingly opaque. I donít understand why people are so down on this beer -- the raspberry more than covers up any deficiencies in the wheat beer base of Purple Haze. Like most wheat beers, the taste is by no means complex, though complexity and satisfaction need not be synonymous. I find this brew refreshing and satisfying, and, when Iím in the mood for a wheat beer, find myself purchasing this particular beer 20% of the time -- the other 80% being split between paulaner hefeweizen and hoegaarden. Though those two brews outclass this particular brew, this brew is unique and is always a crowd pleaser.

Dark haze appearance. Aroma is an oddly off, maybe sour fruitiness. Taste has definite berry fruitiness, with some malt. Mouthfeel is juicy, not unpleasant.

amber, red, cloudy, white foam, light sweetness, light body, average carbonation. I liked the raspberry smell and taste to it. Not a strong flavor, but went well with some chocolate. Overall, itís a good dessert or summer type beer.

Pours a super thick purple head. Just kidding Itís a regular thick head. Amber cloudy color. It looks like wheat beer.

Smells of raspebrries. Not overwhelming. Not artificial. At least itís not so strong that it smells artificial. I donít really smell any malt, but I can smell some hops. It smells inviting.

Flavor is raspberry. Itís not artificial. Itís slightly tart. I think itís natural raspberry. Itís smells more hoppy than it tastes. Other than the raspberry taste, itís not great.

Mouthfeel is pretty light. Itís slightly bitter. It finishes clean, no aftertaste. Itís very dry.

Overall, itís okay. I think they could have maybe sweetened it a little bit to make the flavor less tart. Or, they could have gone in the other direction and given it a little more hoppy taste. But it is what it is, and itís pretty good. Not one that I would buy again, not because I donít like it. But because Iím not wowed.

Pours a hazy golden with thin white head. Cut straw and raspberry on the nose. Slight citrus with a dominating raspberry hit and some earthy after tones. Nope.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - cloudy red orange with a decent head. Nose - raspberries, light malt and a touch of caramel. Taste - more raspberries, sweet malt. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - yeah quite pleasant.

Bottle into Pilsner glass. Hazy copper w a faint raspberry tinge in the beer and the head. Noticeable raspberry aroma and taste but not overpowering. More tart than sweet which is good. Some additional floral and hay notes but very much in the background. Much better than some fruit beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cloudy (hazy) amber color. Smells like raspberries and wheat. Taste is a watered down wheat beer with raspberries. Nothing to get excited about, but definatley not a 15 like the overall rating would lead you to believe.
