COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Real Louisiana satsumas, golden wheat and the finest barley create Satsuma Harvest Wit. Pale and cloudy, like the haze on a hot summer day, this white beer has a sweet and subtle citrus flavor that is cool and refreshing. Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit is a summertime brew that’s Louisiana True.

kinda of wacky, the flavors seem the to contrasting. slightly spicy with white pepper, and coriander. tastes a bit harsh but drinkable enough.

The aroma is quite nice with citrus, malt, wheat, and spice. The appearance is hazy gold with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitter watery finish. The palate is smooth. Overall a refreshing but not fantastic beer.

Bottle shared with barrios at woody’s. What the hell is a satsuma? Pours a very slightly hazy yellow with decent white head. Aroma of wheat and light citrus. Flavor is orangish, like a cream sickle at first but fades to a bitter orange peel. Not a bad brew, fairly unique, but not something I’ll seek out.

Pours a fading white head with a hazy, golden body. Smells of orange and coriander. Flavor is the same but not as intense as the aroma. Finish has a nice zest bitterness.

Bottle from my buddy Steve. Pretty decent American wit overall. Hazy golden pour with a lively body. Pretty nice mouthfeel, very drinkable, even if (as is depressingly predictable for American renditions) it gets a bit thin and syrupy towards the finish. Yeasty up front, sweet and spicy at the back. Not bad.

12oz bottle. very cloudy bright sunny gold color under a large creamy white head. leaves a lot of ribboned lace. light bodied and crisp. tart citrus aroma. flavors of wheaty grains, orange, touches of vanilla and marshmallow. maybe a hint of cinnamon. dry. very refreshing.

12oz shorty bottle. Thick yellow orange, with a fluffy white head. The aroma is all Satsuma, lots of tangy citrus. Tangy orange taste as well, with some pleasant wheat to smooth it out. There is also some vanilla in the aftertaste. Overall a pretty good White beer, exceeding my expectations.

Pours a nice golden color with a lot of carbonation and a big white head. Strong wheat and light citrus and spice on the nose. More body than I expected and not the crisp clean finish either. That is not bad just not what was expected. Nice, slight citrus flavor finishes nicely. Good Summer beer.

Hazy golden/amber with a frothy white head. Tart wheat, grainy lager and citrusy spice aromas. Medium body with a calm mouthfeel. Decent flavor is same as aroma, with wheat, a yeasty grainy lager taste, and mild citrus and spice. Great hot weather brew.
