COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Real Louisiana satsumas, golden wheat and the finest barley create Satsuma Harvest Wit. Pale and cloudy, like the haze on a hot summer day, this white beer has a sweet and subtle citrus flavor that is cool and refreshing. Abita Satsuma Harvest Wit is a summertime brew that’s Louisiana True.

12oz bottle. Hazy paler-yellow color, minimal head. Sharp carbonation, white grape, grapefruit, almost white wine aroma, but without the alcohol taste and texture. Very drinkable and refreshing. I wish I knew what a satsuma was, though. M: "Apricot. Mango?"

12oz bottle. Pale yellow pour with very little white head. Nose is citrus and coriander - more citrus in the flavor with a decent wheat bite. Some spice as well. Pretty refreshing.

Those looking for orange flavor will need to keep looking. I didn’t know this beer existed and was so excited to find it in the fancy beer store in the big city because I’ve been loving Tangerine Wheat by Lost Coast. This was nothing like it though. I don’t taste any kind of orange in here at all. It smells like breakfast cereal and tastes similar to a lot of wheat beers, which is fine. If you just handed me this and said it was a wheat beer, I’d taste it and say thanks, but I think the only satsuma is on the label.

Cloudy orange, loose foamy head. Lots of orange peel and coriander in the aroma. Lots of orange peel and coriander in the flavor, as well. Pretty by the numbers, but actually not bad. I’ll get it again.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle at Cajun Experience. It pours a light orange with a thin, white head. The nose is light with a little citrus. The flavor is thin and weak with some orange zest and a touch of wheat. No yeast, not really anything else. Light in body with average carbonation and a weak finish. Pass on by this weak Witbier.

Lemon wheat aroma. hazy yellow-golden appearance with thin white lacing of head. Taste is that of wheat and lemons. palate is light with a thin texture and soft carbonation. Finish is long for a wheat.

12 ounce bottle that pours a hazy orange with a head that quickly disappears. Smells of some kumquat, and orange peel, smelled really good, however not much translated into the flavor, tasted like a decent wit, but was expecting some of the kumquat flavor to come through.

bottle - pours a cloudy yellow orange with a finger of foam. Smell is quite big for a 5% alcohol beer with floral, citrus (satsumas are a cousin of the tangerine), and malt notes. Taste is mildly sweet with mildly bitter notes in the middle and a refreshing malty finish. The beer is medium bodied with a little viscosity to it. This isn’t normally my style of beer, but I did find this one interesting and worth a second look.

Hazy yellow, good head. Aroma reminding me of corn husk. Some berry or citrus flavors in there, but with some rind of orange or lemon - kind of dry. A god summer beer with enough unique flavor to make it interesting.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 3, 2011
In Ordnung. 7/8/8/7/7/7
